What's the value of Lafreniere in a dynasty?

I have been offered the following trade:

My Zucker + 1st round pick for their Lafreniere + 2nd round pick

My team is in 3rd right now and his team is in last place and will likely finish at best 9th place.

Zucker isn't in my longer term plans for me so this mostly comes down to moving from a potential mid to late 1st round pick for an early 2nd round pick.

I think the potential of Lafreniere is worth at least that?

Zucker is a non-factor in this analysis. This year is nice, but his injury-pocked history makes him the least valuable of the 4 assets.

When you say "1st round pick" is that for an incoming rookie draft? That is, if you finished third, you'd likely be looking at a Will Smith, Dalibor Dvosky type? And his 2nd would be pick 12 or so?

If you're only moving from 8th to 12th in exchange for Lafreniere, you take that deal immediately. The difference between pick 8 and 12 is small compared to the value of the chance that Lafreniere is either very good or nears his draft-day potential.

Yes both picks are for this year. If I make the playoffs the highest my 1st pick could be is 5th overall (if I don't win a single matchup). If I win the league, I would pick 10th.

For non playoff teams the picks are based on regular season standings so his second round pick would very likely be 11 or 12th overall.

I'd drop down from 5th to 12th in order to get Lafreniere. The only wrinkle is if Michkov drops to 5 due to Russian factor or other enigmatic nonsense. If Michkov is at 5 and you miss out, then that wouldn't be great. But I still think that's worth the risk of hoping Lafreniere turns it around.

Good point but the way things are going you might get michkov at 12 lol!!

Smash accept and like i said in the other thread get a new owner. Why the last place team would move lafreniwre to a top team for a micro upgrade is beyond me. If you win and then lafreniere breaks out next year thats almost cheating- lmao!! I mean its not but that owner is on good wood glue...
