Re: [Trade] Denis Malgin for Dryden Hunt
Malgin is a decently defensive responsible offensive player who was given slight chances to take some top 6 minutes but Keefe never stuck with him there. He generated offense for a bottom 6 in Toronto that is built to generate no goals but give up nothing.
Hunt is a good defensive forward that gives nothing offensively really. He's low event. He fits what the Leafs want, but Malgin has the higher upside that is going to a team that embraces Malgin type offense.
I think Avs win the deal because Malgin has the higher offensive upside, he's 2yrs younger, he makes less, and he's an RFA at the end of the season where Hunt is a UFA.
