Default Which youngster has the most trade value?

League 1 in sig - I grabbed Schmaltz when he returned from injury and he’s not doing much, so I’m thinking about instead using that bench spot for a prospect/young player with the hope to package them later with someone for a player of pick upgrade.

Which of these available free agent players would be the best bet/offer most trade value?

    Newhook
    Kaliyev
    Kakko
    Peterka
    N. Robertson
    Guenther
    Berggren

Newhook. Kaliyev second. With Mackinnon out I’d expect Newhook’s value to get a nice bump. And Kaliyev was recently promoted to the top line. If that sticks look out. He’ll be awesome.

Perceived trade value likely rests on which player is performing the best in this 2022-2023 season. Kaliyev.

Kaliyev is #1 on this list for me. Newhook is in a really nice spot right now, this should help his trade value. On another note, Berggren keep producing with little ice time, just like Kaliyev did... He could maybe have some value if he keeps putting points like this
    League 1
    10 team, Dynasty, points only, 30 players, keep20 starts 12 F, 6 D, 2G , unlimited prospects(can keep them max 5 years)
F: Mackinnon,Marner, Panarin, Eichel, Fiala, Hughes, Svechnikov, Robertson, Bratt, Kuznetsov, Hischier, B.Tkachuk, M.Tkachuk, Scheifele, Wheeler, Jenner, Drouin, Tatar, Colton
D:Hughes, Hamilton, Karlsson, Dunn, Burns, Theodore, Slavin, Trouba G: Shesterkin, Binnington, Vanecek
    League2
    Cap league (82.5M with AAV), points only, 12 teams, keep 7, (9F, 4D, 2G)
F: Hughes, Zuccarello,RNH, Marchessault, Scheifele, Toffoli, O’Reilly, Trocheck, Buchnevich extra: Marchenko
    D: Makar, Dahlin, Seider, Andersson
    G: Hellebuyck, Talbot

Kaliyev is number one with a bullet for me. His natural talent is next level and he looks fully engaged as a player nowadays. I actually feel like berrgren might be a step down from these guys but then again he's made a career out of proving doubters like me wrong. And tbh I think he's very good but this list is for like borderline elite potential and he's simply very good imho

Thanks for all the feedback - I ended up grabbing Kaliyev.

But of course now my eye is on a shiny new prize…Quinn was dropped this week

Should I stick with Kaliyev, or put in a waiver claim next week for Quinn (or Newhook still in the mix too).

i think Kaliyev as well but i think long term best player from the bunch is Guenther with Kaliyev and Peterka not far behind....Personally i dont think Newhook is much more than very nice complementary piece...

I would grab Guenther and watch his stock rise during the WJHC. You may get some crazy offers if you do some creative hype machine work.

There are so many factors in play here.

Guenther has the WJC coming up, and that could increase or decrease his value.
Newhook & Kaliyev now have some excellent deployment to take advantage of to boost their value.
Peterka is similar, but he's not top line, although Buffalo might have 2 pretty even ones.
NRobertson is a Maple Leaf, I hear that boosts value, but I haven't really seen it outside of leagues where fantasy teams are affiliated with NHL teams.
I'm pretty sure that Berggren & Kakko aren't the right answer for right now.
