I wonder if its not something behind the scenes. The big contract could be an issue for guys who like to let's say "indulge". Not trying to speculate i just wonder if maybe it IS a wake up call...

I own Petersen in my league and there is no goalie depth on the FA list. Best pickup I could do was Sam Montembeault to try and replace some starts, but I'm super concerned. Guess I'm hoping that Petersen can turn it around in the minors and be back up in a few weeks, but that's a dead spot on my roster if I hold him. Got a guy in my league looking to move Bobrovsky. What do you guys think, do I make an offer for Bob or ride this out and see how things develop?

If Petersen moves, the other team will make the Kings eat a contract or retain salary.
He could very easily be back in the NHL soon and back on track. Goalies suck like that.

Teams with the cap space to straight up claim him, alphabetically:
Anaheim, Arizona, Buffalo, Chicago, Detroit, Ottawa, Columbus has the room with Werenski on LTIR
In claiming order:
Anaheim: Claiming Petersen, and waiving Gibson makes a lot of financial sense. However, it may not make locker room sense. I doubt they claim him, but I'd claim him and waive Gibson to see if somebody bites.
Chicago: Has only Mrazek & Stalock as veterans. Petersen is younger than both, and has more promise. Should claim him.
Columbus: Werenski needs to definitely be out for the season for this to work. Don't think they need him with Elvis & Tarasov. Should pass on him.
Arizona: Vejmelka has been good, Ingram not so much. They seem to claim waived goalies often: Ingram, Wedgewood are two examples. Should claim him.
Ottawa: Weird that they are this low. Talbot/Forsberg aren't the problem. Talbot is expiring though. I doubt they claim him, if he gets there.
Buffalo: Comrie has looked bad, Andersen has looked good, but he's 42. They have other younger options as well, in UPL, etc. I doubt they claim him, if he gets there.
Detroit: No real chance they claim him, unless Husso gets hurt for the year before the claiming deadline. I doubt they claim him, if he gets there.
