That's pretty bad. I thought Hughes being ranked as only the 7th-best dman prospect for points-only behind guys like Guhle and Perunovich was pretty egregious but Vanacek at #25 is worse.

NOT being sheltered against better teams (e.g., Swayman)
Plays on first-place team, whether or not you believe in NJD
And yet ranks #25 in keeper rankings, below Gibson, Cal Petersen, and Merzlikins?
What does he need to do?
I hope my fantasy leagues are all in on this, and accept my trade offers for him.

I'm not sure that I have ever found value in those rankings, to be honest. Yes, Vanecek should be higher but keep in mind that the sample size is much too small still. Vanecek has had one great month; he was pretty mediocre in October. I am not yet sold on him.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
I noticed that as well and had a good laugh about it this morning.
The Dobber rankings and depth-chart/lineup tools have always been a nice, conservative guideline to browse over from time to time but tend to lag a couple of weeks (sometimes months) behind reality.
The keeper rankings are built quite specifically to limited scoring cat leagues and have a heavy dose of Dobber favoritisms built into them (and, on the flip side, punish players that the ranker isn't a personal fan of).
If your league-mates use the rankings as their holy grail you can take real advantage of the built in lag and biases.
I appreciate the work put into them but always take them with a grain of salt.

they copy rankings from last time they came out and they never adjust much....couple spots each time at best. Its not right but it is what it is...he does have one of smallest work loads in the game based on shots per game...but still numbers are there ...respect is not.

I agree 100%. Something else to realize is that Dobber heavily weights closeness to the NHL in his rankings. I think that is an interesting philosophical approach. A prospect in the AHL or in a NHL timeshare that is close to being a regular has succeeded longer into his development compared to the recently drafted, 18-year old pick that is a couple years from realistically playing in the NHL. Personally, I want the upside over the safer, closer prospect but when you factor in late bloomers and the number of prospects that ultimately bust, Dobber's approach might be better. It would be interesting to do a long study on this approach.

This. The rankings move slowly unlike the fickle flavor of the month yo-yo that is many fantasy GM’s MO. Keeper leagues are the long game. Also recall that the rankings are quite clear that the important aspect of the rankings are the tiers, not who is 25 vs 23. It takes awhile for true goalie value (both up and down) to be ranked. I think this year Vanecek is going to win some guys their league. So will Samsonov. The keeper goalie rankings will adjust, but not after a month. That would be nonsense.

Because even Akira Schmidt is 4 and 0. Its not Vitek, its the team.
Good points above, also consider the Dobber ranking as one source, not the only answer.
I grabbed him off waivers in both my leagues but the sample size is still small. Don't imagine he loses he starting gig when blackwood get's back and Schmidt has been great too. Ride the hot hand. I drafted Georgiev as well and most here on dobber thought francouz was the better own. Goalies are a bit voodoo though.
