Re: things to do in montreal
I can help out on restaurants and bars mostly by Old Montreal as my friend used to live there, but most of the stuff is found on google so it's not really much of hidden gems.
Bars:
- Atwater. This is a "speakeasy" bar and it's a got some food. My fiance really enjoyed it, not so much me but that was atmosphere and not because of the quality of the products. Just wasn't my vibe
-The Coldroom. This was my vibe. I really enjoyed my few hrs here. Bartenders are amazing there and the vibe isn't a party, it's a chill time.
- Nhau Bar. I really liked this one. Another "speakeasy".
Food:
Schwartz Smoked Meat - This is a typical smoked meat shop. I personally always go here, but others have said there's better. I just always end up here when we're leaving Montreal and I buy lunch before the drive. I end up buying vacuumed sealed briskets too to freeze them and have them at home.
Tommy Cafe - It's a breakfast place. I enjoyed it, fiance liked it more. I personally rather a coffee and that's it for breakfast so again, just wasn't my vibe. But the food was good
ALOHA - It's a coffee shop. Much rather go there. It was more me.
Di Vinci Ristoante - Steak place by the Bell Centre. It's a steak, italian place. How could you go wrong?
Jellyfish Montreal - I haven't gone, but my friend said it was REALLY good.
Entertainment.
-I typically go and end up at the Museum. It's a good way to burn a day.
- Hikes. There's a beautiful part of Montreal more North of the city core where you can hike around. Do that if you're an outdoor person
- Rent bikes. If the weather is good, renting bikes and using that to get around town was fun and cheap.
