Ranking Fox in 1 year Banger leagues

I'm going through my top 30 rankings to cover the first few rounds of my draft next week. I currently have Josi and Hedman at #17 and #18 respectively.

Where does Fox fit into this? Is he #19, right behind them? Or would you have him further down my list around guys like Gaudreau #24, Panarin #25, DeBrincat #26, etc.. I think most of us agree that Q. Hughes is a fantastic scoring Dman but gets no peripherals and shouldn't be rated so highly in a banger league. Is Fox not the same but slightly higher scoring? Only reason I could see Fox being drafted top 20 in my league is that top dmen talent is thin.

Anyway, appreciate any thoughts on ranking Fox in banger leagues.

This is a great question that we all struggle with but also allows you to "find value". I agree with your assessment and allows you to select other players who better suit the settings of your league.

Fox is a great player - but is he that much more valuable than Chabot, Hamilton, Heiskanen and Bouchard who are likely available many rounds later. I would not target Q. Hughes and Fox and let others select them and focus in on the players I am targeting that better fit your settings. All my opinion!

in a banger just wait on defense until Round 7/8 let's say and load up a top four. Gobble up elite forward options early for a core and then you can get the likes of Trouba, Nurse, Jones, Gudas, Pionk, Slavin, etc.

Interesting tactic. I see the value in waiting but I do like having a couple scoring Dmen. I'll do some mock drafts fading Dmen until later rounds and load up on banger Dmen and see how I like the teams I put together.
