If youre looking for help this year I think you need to go
Pulju
Wahlstrom
Peterka
Schneider
Fowler
Team in signature, points only keeper.
I have 2 more picks left and basically no veteran left that could help me this year. I prefer to go prospect and trade them later... Here is what is left on the board (there may be more previous year picks that I've missed)
Please help/suggest, see my rough order below, if you could maybe give me your top 5
Peterka
Kemell
Mintyukov (d)
Mateychuk (d)
Bean (d)
B. Schneider (d)
Fowler (d)
Zary
Lekkerimaki
Lucius
Soderstrom (d)
Wahlstrom
Skinner (g)

SALARY CAP (Player Salaries) League
20 Player Teams = 12 Fwd 6 D 2 G
My team: ???
Do you see any of those players fitting in my top 6 F or top 3 D ? That means doing better than Trocheck or Burakovsky at F and better than Hronek at D.

I'd consider three routes here:
1. Kemell and Lekkerimaki
2. Mintyukov and Mateychuk
3. One of each
Kemell and Lekkerimaki will be in Finland & Sweden this year playing top division.
Both could have big "D+1" seasons... though typically not INSANE since they are playing amongst 20-40yr old professionals in their country's top league.
Mintyukov and Mateychuk both will (likely) be returned to their OHL and WHL clubs.
They both WILL have enormous "D+1" productions seasons. And fantasy GMs often go absolutely ga-ga over this. Last year, Wyatt Johnson (OHL) and Owen Zellwegger (WHL) had huge pointing outputs... and if a GM wanted... they were easy "sell high" players. So... unlike Kemell and Lekkerimaki, they are going to have big pointing seasons... which looks great on internet stats.
Generally - though - I like the forward wingers a tad more because most NHL teams run a 4F:1D powerplay these days.
So... it's way easier for young wingers to point... then a defenseman who has somebody roadblocking them.
And Mintyukov IS roadblocked by Drysdale (ANA) and Zellwegger (ANA) and so is Mateychuk with Werenski (CBJ) and maybe even Jiricek (CBJ).
That's a lot of information... and you know your own GMs...
So if you are thinking of "flipping this pick"... you do it based on what makes them salivate: D-scoring stats in WHL leagues... or high-end Euro wingers with potential (but maybe not Liiga/SWE-1 stats).
Good luck!
Thank you Pengwin7, this if really helpful. My hesitation in Kemell/Lekkerimaki is they are scorer first and my league is points only.
I think I will go Mintyukov for my next pick and still not sure about my last one. Maybe Peterka with the great stats he had as a rookie in the AHL.
