Okay thanks. Looks like it will work. I will try it out later.

I'm interested if there's still space
12 team H2H Most Cats Wins; Keep 6/winner keeps 7; G A PPP +/- SHP SOG HIT BLK PIM // W SV GAA SV% SHO
3 C, 3 LW, 3 RW, 6D, 2G, 5 bench

D - Dobson, Karlsson
G - Jarry, Luukkonen
PH had an idea for separating the standings and avoiding ties. We want to know if this makes sense or if there's a flaw in the idea:
Instead of the rotisserie points for one category being a range of 7 points for the best picks to 1 point for the worst picks in a 7 manager league, we could take all of the NHL teams drafted for that category (in a 7 manager league where everyone takes 4 NHL teams for each category that would be 28 selections), and allocate points from best to worst, 28 (best NHL team pick) through 1 (worst NHL team pick), to each manager. That would give a much broader range of scoring. If you were to pick the top 3 NHL teams in a category you would have 28+27+26 points for 81, or if you picked the worst 3 you would have 1+2+3 = 6 points.

10 GM's with 2 remainder wouldn't be too bad. Having a few more GMs would make it more fun imo.
Natural Stat Trick will work for me to leach data off of. I just hope it will be updated daily once season starts.
I can work in pmorrow's new suggestion. I think that is a better way to do it, with there only being 3 categories.

Alright pretty much got it setup.
Need to work on cosmetics still so it's not horrid to look at. Also would need to tweak if we go for pmorrow's suggestion (which I think we should).
Any others have any different opinions on that one?

Right now it's linked to last years team stats, and teams are randomly assigned for show.
Added Standings per GP.

I definitely think it'll be more fun to get points on a level of 32(best) to 1(worst).
Scores will be much higher and more volatile that way.
I think that'll be easier to track too since stat tables will come in with all 32 teams.
And I'd recommend 12 separate columns for team points.
Oc1 Oc2 Oc3 Oc4 Dc1 Dc2 Dc3 Dc4 Gc1 Gc2 Gc3 Gc4
Oc# = Offense Choice 1,2,3,4
Dc# = Defense Choice 1,2,3,4
Gc# = Goalie Choice 1,2,3,4
It'll be most fun if you can see these numbers and say "Oh man, my choice #3 on goaltenders was SO BAD!"
Otherwise, all four choices get lumped together and one can't really distinguish what picks were the "good, the bad, and the ugly!"
[It makes for a better conversational league format this way, IMO]
Example... say somebody has the following: 185 = 22, 15, 30, 4..... 31, 20, 11, 10... 9, 24, 8, 1
It would be easy to say "Oh wow, you really nailed your 3rd offense choice... and really pooched your first goalie choice!"
Average Score per category = 16.5 (1 to 32)/2
Average Score for 12 picks = 198
This way, we'll also all know whether we picked a "better than average" pick-set.
Was waiting on a consensus before implementing the scoring based on level of 1-32 (or 28) teams, but seems everyone is liking it so I'll do that.
Based on 32 teams as opposed to 28 would be less time consuming.
Good idea on the 12 column to show how each pick is doing. I think that needs to be done.
That's going to take more screen size... and I was trying to stay condensed as I don't know what viewing it is like on mobile.
Maybe it would be best to split it up and have Standings on one tab and The Teams on another tab.

Format looks great and I think you could update it with some very subtle tweaks.
1. Keep the top left standings, Table1, but GF/gp, SA/gp, SV% would pull in from tables/standings below
2. Next table down can be Table2.TeamOffense. It has 5 columns, just change those to: O-Total, Pick1, Pick2, Pick3, Pick4. The O-Total will feed the GF/gp value in Table 1, etc.
3. Next table down can be Table3.TeamDefense. Ditto.
4. Make one more table down, Table4. TeamSv%. Ditto. (You'd need 7-10 extra lines for this... so...)
5. Add spaces between each team list on the right... and that'll give you 7 extra lines for Table 4. You can find a way to get the extra few.
*. I think you could reduce the full team names to team abbreviations (CHI, not Chicago Blackhawks)... and then you'll have a format that more smoothly fits mobile view.
Changing to ranking to 1-32 makes a major difference.... In the mock data it sent Tweetdrivr from 1st down to 3rd.
Makes picking strong teams really strong... and since I just randomly assigned teams - it made for some wild swings lol
Sheet still a work-in progress to implement this.

In you 'range' for the ranking formula - if you simply delete the teams that are not picked then would it allow for the ranking to be 1-28 an the top team only gets 28 points as opposed to 32?
this is the rough rough rough spreadsheet that I had started prior to Invictus setting one up... if you check out the Offensive rankings section - that is where I experimented with the above.
