    Love it.
Translation "You all skipped over a great pick"...

Best line in fantasy hockey drafts "Oh man, can't believe this guy fell to me..."
(Basically - a rip on everybody drafting 10-15 spots in advance! Haha)

Not a rip on others…just a noting of my considerable abilities.

Of course it’s not the league winning pick, but it’s fun to talk. I have to say whoever came up with this format (Pete?) is to be congratulated- what a great idea.

Yeah, I agree, this is fun. Plus, it'll be fun to track all year long.

I like Ottawa SV% pick, they were my next pick. I had to skip over them with my last pick as that would have completed that category and I had other options I liked still in that cat so wanted to address elsewhere.

Now Talbot injured for a bit...

Have just noted which picks were made while I was sleeping. I'm not an early riser (except Saturdays)

Thanks, even if Talbot misses a bit, they should be improved from Murray last year. I'm really stoked with my goalie picks

I almost took the Wings offence with my last pick. Maybe I should have, we'll see in the end.

Yes I can say it is my idea, but greatly refined by many of you with your suggestions! It was a very rough copy idea when I chucked it out there.

Looking forward to seeing which of Mrazek, Allen, or Vejmelka P7 leaves me with.

Yeah, I'm going to end up with whatever D remains unpicked... I'm okay with it. I punted shots against on purpose as other than a few outliers, the potential for randomness in that category is extremely high. Every team ranked from 3 to 30 could finish just about anywhere in the final rankings because the range in that stat is so small.

I think Allen has a sneaky good year. His GAA won't look good but the Habs will allow so many shots that I feel his SV% might be fine.

I think we're far enough in that things are pretty set at this point that I had kind of a similar idea with how to draft. My theory was to try and avoid randomness as much as possible. With goalie save percentages fluctuating so much year to year, I figured that was the one that I would leave to the end, as any team could jump a ton or fall a ton from year to year. Didn't want to waste any good picks on a workhorse who gets injured early and his backup struggles all year, or something like that.
Goals for I figured would be the most projectable, so 4 of my first five picks were in that category. I liked either the Devils or the Rangers and knew one would slip to round five though, so I grabbed a team defence that only got more support from some better and responsible wingers in the offseason (SEA), to get a quick leg up there. But as you mentioned Gabe, the margins are so thin there, but they are a little more projectable, so we know who the better teams should be. Went with a couple more DEF groups, but when P7 was running the exact same style, I figured that with both of us running the same strategy I had to zag a little, so I jumped on a couple of the better Sv% teams that I saw in between his picks, forcing him to end up with no playoff teams for save percentage, where I grabbed two in the Panthers and Devils that I think make the playoffs.

I also tried to look at where coaches changed over the summer, banking on PHI sv% improving because of Torts, and DET's overall team defence improving without Blashill.

Overall, a really fun and different perspective on trying to project where you can get the better numbers. Hoping we can run this in future years too, and will be really curious to see how it all plays out over the course of the season.

All three teams are probably going to be shot siphons, and all three goalies have had good stretches. Definitely could be true with the Habs, but there's some similar upside and chance with each I think.
