    Default Thomas/Dach vs Robertson

Got offered this little deal for my league in sig (keep 14 cap).

Thomas (2.8) and Dach (3.362) have nice contracts. Thomas does go up to 8.125 next year (not bad for a guy who was pacimg at a 87 pt/g pace) but both of these guys are playmakers and this a goal heavy league.

Robertson still being an rfa is why he offered me this as his cap situation this year is tight.

If Robertson signs a bridge at 7 mil its reasonable. But leaves me with less cap this year.

    Thoughts?
    1) 12 team keeper league (cap with aav) keep 15. (Less than 82 GP = protected)
    Fwd G 2pt A 1pt Def G 2pt A 1pt Blk .33 pt Goalies - W 2pt OTL 1pt SO 4pt

F(12): Robertson, J Hughes, Stutzle, Zegras, K. Johnson, Kuzmenko, Tolvanen, Byfield, Cooley, Eklund, Evangelista, Knies
D(6): Seider, Dahlin, Drysdale, Bouchard, Theodore, Mintyukov
    G(2): Andersen, Oettinger
    Bench (8):
    A Tomasino, Guenther, Coronato
    D Clarke, Boqvist, Drysdale, OEL

based on Sens contracts handed out to likes of Stuetzle despite track record Robertson is getting paid the likes of 8 mil per year bare minimum. I do the deal cuz with Marchand out I would not look at the roster and say assured winner but adding his scoring in Brad's absence would be beneficial and make you more potent overall. Also like the link you would create with Hintz. Goal heavy says it all and Thomas will certainly never be very strong in that department.

You have a goal heavy league, and I view Robertson as the best player here. Given Thomas' extension you are giving Dach as the extra to move from Thomas to Robertson, who I think should have roughly similar cap hits. I'd do that deal.

I agree. I love Thomas but in a goal-heavy league, Robertson might get twice as many goals per season. I wouldn't worry about moving on from Dach. Plus, you've got a spot to pick up another player. I'd make the trade.

Thanks for the replies! I'll pull the trigger! Trade offer got modified a bit (just pick swapping (no 1sts). And he's considering taking Bratt (5.430) instead of Thomas (2.8) so not done yet.

With Kyrou signing at 8.125, I'm guessing Robertson gets more than that! Predictions for a contract?

Robertson will be similar. And swapping Thomas for Bratt would be just fine.

I think I'd prefer to keep Bratt, honestly.

I think that was a pretty good deal for you.
