Could go either way. I'll say Newhook because of the shorter-term surrounding cast. Until Buffalo builds a stable powerhouse, it is hard to be confident in any Sabre being a big time scorer.
Points only long term. Who’s the guy?

I really like Newhook, long term.

I don’t know but if Quinn gets a regular gig and PP1 then I really like his potential. That’s a young core that will depend on him for scoring. Newhook is learning behind some of the best but I have a feeling he may never see top minutes that Quinn could see. Close one but I’ll go Quinn. Good luck.

to me its Quinn based on upside. I think their upside isnt really close tbh. I think Newhook maxes out as 60-65 guy and i think for Quinn sky is the limit. time will tell.

As much as I like Newhook, who I do prefer in the short term, I have to go with Quinn in the longer term. The bottom line is that he has put up numbers that are pretty damn impressive, certainly more so than what Newhook did in the OHL and limited AHL play. 2 pts in his first 2 NHL games, that's good. However, 61 pts in 45 AHL games for a rookie is just something you can't ignore. The Sabres are building, but they are almost there, and in the next 2 to 3 years it wouldn't surprise me if Quinn was part of one of the highest scoring lines in the NHL. I just don't see that type of potential for Newhook. At worse, I think it's a wash, but Quinn could do so much more if the stars align and they do appear to be aligning. We'll know a whole lot more after his rookie campaign.

Personally I like Quinn but he’s riskier.
