Nice fit. You gotta think that Trotz told them he's not going there. There were reports right away that the offer was already on the table right after they fired DeBoer. Which leaves Winnipeg or Detroit for Trotz.

I think it is plausible that Vegas chose Cassidy over Trotz. They may have had an offer on the table that they pulled back once Cassidy was fired.
