I don’t hate it, but think I’d still need more to pull the trigger.
Deep 14 team dynasty league.
Categories are G, A, PTS, SOG, FOW, Hits, BLKS.
Start 4 LW, 4 C, 4 RW, 6 D, 8 man bench.
Was offered Jack Hughes and the #6 overall pick in the rookie draft for Huberdeau. I know it’s a “weaker” draft but I also have pick #5 so having two top 6 picks would be nice as my minors system is….just ok, nothing special.
Roster right now:
McDavid, Huberdeau, Barzal, B. Nelson, Backlund, Mercer, Bratt, Teravainen Batherson, Copp, Jarvis, Necas, Zuccarello, Voracek, T. Moore, Arvidsson, Saad, Marchessault
Hedman, Chychrun, McDonagh, Ekblad, Ferraro, Gavrikov, Martinez
Thoughts?

I like it. Huberdeau is coming off a career season so it's tough to move him, but Hughes has the potential to pass Huberdeau in the next year or two. I do think you might be able to squeeze a little more out of them though given the year Huberdeau just had
Without me, it's only "aweso".
This is an pass for me. Huberdeau is simply the superior player across all your scoring stats ( one potential advantage is FOW but Hughes is brutal in the face off circle). Hubs is 28, in his prime and will be for years and is playing in a rich offensive environment. Some day, Jack Hughes may be as good. Or not. We'll see, but I'd recommend not waiting 3 years or more on him to find out. Hughes and a 6th overall for Huberdeau, no thanks.

On a per game basis, they actually stack up pretty good. Hughes is better for G, SOG, and FOW; Huberdeau is better for A, PTs, and Hits. Blocks are basically a wash. But like others have mentioned, his FOW is pretty piss poor for a C. Not a fair comparison, but Bergeron is over 5x better there.
Definitely on the side that thinks this could be a pretty decent trade even as soon as two years as Hughes hits his stride, but also you need/should get more based on Huberdeau's performance.

Personally I don’t think Huberdeau can repeat last years performance. I think Hughes next year has the potential to out produce him Atleast points wise he’s 10 years younger and on a up and coming team. I think Hughes alone is worth more then Huberdeau in a dynasty in a vacuum. That’s my opinion

Jonathan Huberdeau will not see these sort of numbers next year or the remainder of his career and Jack Hughes is a superstar in the making. I really like the trade, but I think because of what Huberdeau did this season you could ask for more in return.
I love the idea of selling high on Huberdeau. But I think you could get slightly more than what is offered.
