HOCKEY CANADA RELEASES ACTION PLAN TO SHATTER THE CODE OF SILENCE AND ELIMINATE TOXIC BEHAVIOUR IN AND AROUND CANADA'S GAME
    https://www.newswire.ca/news-release...846975829.html

"We recognize that there is an urgent need to address the types of behaviours that are rightly causing Canadians to question aspects of our game," said Scott Smith, president and chief executive officer of Hockey Canada. "Culture change will not occur overnight, but with this Action Plan we are fully committed to making the meaningful changes necessary to ensure the safety, welfare and well-being of everyone who participates in, and enjoys the sport of hockey."

It's like the bare minimum for human decency. I hate these things. "we promise to do better and here's how. We'll do what most people normally who haven't sold their soul for money."

It's a joke of a statement. One of the things the Canadian Gov't wants as part of their investigation is to have the Non-disclosures in all sexual assault cases stripped so they can hear the victims statements. I only heard this on the radio, so unsure how true this is or if it's a pipe dream. But I would love to have this. Victim gets their statement and got their money. Love it. And in 2 weeks we have the U18/WJC tournaments happening, wonder how much of this is Canada just hoping to play in it with all this stuff for the money to fund future stuff.

Action plan. LOL. Sure. I agree, a great first step in any "action" plan is to get rid of the NDA's. Let's hear the stories that need to be told. Pipedream at best.

This was literally the least they could. I hope they really do make changes, but my feeling is that they are just biding their time in hopes that some other scandal takes the attention off them.

So there's some more points that have come out over this.

    - HH (law firm) interviewed 10/19 players who were at the gala/golf tourney between June 30 and July 11th 2018. 7 players informed HH on Jul 13th, 2018 that they refused to be interviewed until a plice investigation concluded

    - Now it's come out that players who do not sit for interviews/participate in the 2022 HH probe will be subject to lifetime bans for any future participation in Hockey Canada-related activates. Those lifetime bans will be made public.

So there’s 7 players that refused to be interviewed by Robitaille back in 2018 until a criminal investigation was performed. Once the investigation was completed Robitaille never followed up to interview those 7 players to hear their side

    Why?
    This is hockey related...

"Thoughts on the NHL, KHL, AHL, the latest trades, signings and more!"

If we can write thoughts on the AHL, then I feel CHL also applies to this section.

This is too good/true to not share and I thought this was the appropriate place to put it:

The thread title has "hockey" in it twice, so...

    Seems pretty hockey related.

How the guys who have been in power through this are trusted to make the right decisions on this change is beyond me. Everything they have done up to this point has been evidence they can't be trusted and should be replaced before taken seriously.

Ya what should happen and what will happen are never the same. With the Canadian gov't involved tho, it's at least a big deal, and it is a huge news story. WJC coming up, it'll likely become global news. As long as the pressure is consistent through the next few months, I think a change will happen. But it won't happen quick enough.
