I would expect the NHLPA would step in if there's no charges.

The London police did a pretty crap job in 2018 when it came to light to them, and they restarted the investigation when Rick Westhead did the leg work on it.

That sounds about right. I would expect the NHLPA to do so in that case.

Per the Athletic 6 days ago, NHL Deputy Commissioner, Bill Daly, says he expects to see a final report from the Hockey Canada 2018 SA investigation soon.

Now HC has a "Beyond the Boards" summit Sept 8-9th this yr in Calgary. It's a "series of sessions that will bring together leaders in hockey, external subject-matter experts, individuals with lived experiences and stakeholders to identify ways to guide future discussions and actions that will make positive changes to the culture of the game" I wonder if they announce it after that, even though the proper thing to do is to announce it before.

I wonder if they're trying to bring more attention to it by not announcing anything. Everyone in a fantasy keeper hockey league has to be wondering and thinking about the lawsuit. Maybe not for the best reasons, but still...

It has to be settled by now.

It is reported the NHL investigation is done, and their findings have been given to the London Police. However they don't want to release the investigation while the London Police investigation is ongoing.

If I recall correctly from a week or two ago though. I could be wrong.

Is it ironic that the NHL is doing the report and giving it to the police.

Is there not bias one way or the other if the NHL is doing the report and giving it to the police?

It's all BS.

You can argue the NHL will be biased and say their employees are innocent. You can that the NHL is doing more than the London Police if they've already concluded their investigation.

London Police didn't care 5yrs ago as this was something that they have likely dealt with FOREVER. London has the Western University, which is a huge party University. They likely deal with this stuff way too much, and didn't do their job. Now they are trying to perform an investigation of something that's 5yrs old, with likely inadequate evidence.

The London Police failed here, and likely aren't giving it the right resources to fully do an investigation. Which is why it's dragging.

Then the NHL actually can't care about this, it's all a front. If they cared, they'd release the stuff now, allow criticism on their media fronts, or have any form of open discussion of it.

The London Police have probably requested that the NHL not release their results publicly. This is what happens when the police do a crap job, or no job, of investigating, and then something blows up later.
