Hynes’ expiring contract includes a one-year team option, but I am hearing that the Predators have signed Hynes to a new multi-year contract.

From a goner mid season last year to an extension now. Thanks Josi and Saros.

Not a huge fan of Hynes, as he makes a lot of questionable decisions. Josi, Saros, and some super inflated on-ice percentages made the difference. There's zero chance he's still with the team by the end of that extension.

Yes. Given the available pool out there this year this was a bad idea.

That is absolutely awful. Hynes and Poile needed to be gone for sure and it seemed a guaranteed thing. What the hell are the Preds thinking.

    Ugh just gross

i was not a fan of him last season cause his lineup deployment was bizarre but it worked out for him this season so good for him.

nashville had absolute career best numbers from josi, forsberg and duchene and a top notch season from saros and still barely made the playoffs and got swept in the first round. difficult to see how they improve from here even if they manage to keep filip at a reasonable number.

Maybe they are thinking they are not that far off and a few more pieces might help move them over the hump again. Who knows. It's not like there aren't other quality coaching options available but sometimes it's the Devil you know .

definitely possible, itll have to come internally. tanner jeannot was a surprise and productive which helped. they need kunin and/or tolvanen to make a leap in a secondary scoring role as well. cody glass is a wildcard

I wanted to give you rep for the sly Devil pun, but couldn't.

Basically Poile got him because he knows him, and it's worked out. Poile has generally been a solid GM, so while Nashville hasn't been elite, they've been darn good during his tenure. Hynes is a bad coach, but this runi n Nashville might get him a head coach job elsewhere if he gets fired. Just hope it's not a team you root for.
