Default Teravainen and Vanecek for Weegar

My goalies are pretty weak. Smith especially.

    Start 2 goalies per night.

    Accumulated points league.

Would this trade help my team overall? I am currently in a dogfight for the money right now.

We start 6 D per night.

    Thoughts?

    League in signature.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks.

In a vacuum, I prefer the Teravainen and Vanacek side.

However, the position limits make this a much harder trade to evaluate. Is your league active in the trade market... would you be able to move a goalie for another D-man?

In a points league where you get a point value for hits and blocks and such... I don't like to lose out on games played.

So only have 6D men when you start 6 is not the configuration I would like to go into the playoffs with.

Similarly I don't like having 4 Goalies when I can only start two (unless there off-day games are really good matches!).

I would make the move if you think you can find an active trade partner to take on one of your goalies or your lesser wingers for a decent 7th D-man.

Thank you for your great response Penguin. I actually do have 8 D right now. Barrie was missing from my roster. hehe. Not sure he is worth mentioning though

I would likely be dropping Smith if I made the trade.

i traded Holtz and Rathbone for Weegar few weeks ago to give you an idea....Weegar is quite valuable in your set up even if he is struggling but i think TT + Vanecek is a very good return ...

What about Weegar straight up for Lehner?

Not 100% I could swing it but the Lehner owner showed interest in Weegar and is out of the running this season.

True, but he hits and blocks and shoots like crazy and still manages to put up points.

In this league Weegar is 5.64 fppg

    Some comparables would be:

    Pietrangelo - 5.2 fppg
    McAvoy - 5.7 fppg
    Nurse - 5.8 fppg
    Theodore - 5.3 fppg
    Chabot - 5.4 fppg

When you say accumulated points, do you keep the points Weegar got already, or are you dealing them for Vanacek/Teravianen simply going forward?

I like the deal if you need goalie help., but I trust Vanecek the least of these 3.

I would much rather take my chances with Lehner than Vanacek. If this is all about improving your goaltending then this is a deal I would recommend pursuing. You are giving up a very valuable asset in Weegar to do this, but I think Lehner gives you the best return by far to get what you need. Vasi and Lehner is a pretty decent duo!

Ended up doing Severson, Vanecek and Teravainen for Weegar and Kilorn. Added Severson to fill in for Barrie who was injured.

    Thanks for all the input!
