How does this work with someone telling a joke that involves characters within the joke using the word? If an author can make his characters say it, surely I can tell a joke about a group of black guys where one of them says it? Do you see the problem with your logic?

I see ~A~ specific problem here yes, which I have already addressed in the post before and after this post.

I am glad that I am not the only one.

For someone that calls out others on their reading abilities all the time… sure would be nice if they used full sentences or common acronyms.

Go ask someone who is african-american when you can use the N-word. See what they say. I'll say that's prolly the best judge of when you can use the word that was meant as a derogatory slur.

If Joe Rogan can get like Obama, Wayne Simmonds, Samuel L Jackson to OK his use in each context, ok then right? I'm also pretty sure SLJ pressured Leonardo DiCaprio to say the N-word in Django Unchained. It was him or it was Jamie Foxx.

I can prolly say that each of those African-American celebrities I've given would side with the use of the N-word by Rogan was wrong. Rogan for F-sake said he messed up. I don't get the argument on saying Rogan was ok to use the word in the context when Rogan said himself he messed up. Whatever, be people who say it's ok to use a word that's a slur in "the right context".

Then I would say it's not widely accepted and you risk getting 'in trouble' every time you say it, and if you don't recognize the risk you take then I'm sorry...you (Joe Rogan) makes millions and has a PR rep for sure informing him stuff.

He knew the risk every time he said it.

Oh I don't disagree at all. Anyone who says it in any context should know the risk by now. I'm more frustrated by arguments from people like rataylor who talk about it like it's a 100% cut and dry issue with no gray area. He has the answers to when it is and isn't okay, and that's that.

To me, if it's not in a movie/show, I think there's 0 incidences where it's acceptable. But if you want to do it, you know the risk.

At the end of the day to me he said it. The context he said them in means little if he didn't provide a "I actually said, "Man I had a script written for me, and ok'd by multiple people around me to say...." and the clip in the montage was just the N-word. But he knew the risk of a potential cancel over something like this. He can't cry over it if it happens. That's kind of my stance on a lot of stuff like this. If you have this amount of incidences, it wasn't a slip up, and you assume risk when saying it in our time.

So I'm more on Rataylor side than not.
