what do you guys think... Karma to all who can advise.

I currently have J-Bo and Goligoski in my lineup and Baumeester is off to his typical do nothing start.
Goligoski\'s been getting good PP time but I also am not sure about him other.

do you think I should drop one of them for Mccabe? my team\'s listed in my sig.

    Here is my take...

JBo - He is a slow starter, but when he gets going, he will turn it on.

McCabe - If you don\'t mind holding onto to him while he is injured...I think he still has a few good years left.

Goligoski - The jury is still out on him. I personally think the Penguins have struggled without Whitney & Gonchar. Will he rise to the challenge...or is he still not there yet?

My picks would be Jbo & McCabe.

I think in a keeper you would be better off to stick with Goligoski actually - he is pretty highly rated as a prospect and is only going to get better.

    Shoeless,

I am under the assumption that a keeper league in which McCabe is available is not very deep. And looking at his roster is further proof it can\'t be that deep. Therefore, players with potential are a dime a dozen.

I could be wrong and he just has one heck of a powerhouse team...

Sorry Brian I wasn\'t really arguing the point you made just speaking my own opinion on who I thought would be better to keep.

I didn\'t think you were. I just wanted to clarify my reasoning.

I am curious to know how deep this league is though...

If it is a keeper league, then I think you should keep Giligoski. He is getting every opportunity to flourish as he is playing a huge amount of pp time. And really, he is a rookie, and he is going to get better. I would say he is on pace right now for about 25 points. I think that would be pretty good for a rookei D. Bowme will get you more points this year i presume, but if it is a keeper, hold onto to Goli.
Head to Head League: 1 point for G, 1 point for A. 2 for Goalie win, 3 for SO.
Start 6 guys every week. 3 O, 2 D and 1G. No substitutions once they are in (before the first game starts on Monday).
Protect 3 players every year in keeper.

D: Letang, Doughty, Karlsson, Grzelcyk, Faulk,

Personally, I would go with J-Bo and Goligoski and avoid McCabe.

    Here is why:

McCabe will be injury prone, and he is coming off of a back injury...not something that will necessarily be 100%, and he plays for Florida-wouldn\'t want both J-Bo and McCabe---easy choice there for me.

Goligoski is getting the most PP time of all Pittsburgh D-men right now, which means even when Whitney comes back, he is still at least #2. I am a firm believer that Pitts will probably deal him for a winger closer to the deadline, and he will become the long-term #1 D-man on another team...his skills are phenomenal...he is just finding his stride.

J-Bo over McCabe in a heartbeat...just finding his groove...always a slow starter, and he will be dealt somewhere else at deadline....anywhere is better than Florida...except maybe Atl....and they have 3 offensive d-men already.

    Keep J-Bo and Gogo!

    Hey Guys,
    Thanks for the replys...
I was in the midst of posting my league to get everyone\'s feedback anyways so I\'ll past the googledoc link here as well.

    http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...g&hl=en_GB

Thanks for the compliments, this league has been going on 4 years now... I got lucky with some trades this year and drafted well... real well.
let me know what you think? where are my weeknesses, and who are my threats? by the way... Shoeless I agree that Goligoski is a better keeper, but in this league we can only keep 8 players...
look forward to your responses... this is quite a competitive league and at this moment I\'m slightly ahead.

I think that the majority of people that are responding DO NOT understand ONLY 42 defensemen TOTAL are owned.

Is Goligoski one of the top 42 defensemen THIS YEAR?

If I were you, I would actually pick up Whitney...there are talking about a return date in December.

Whitney Dec-Apr will get 3 times as many points as Goligoski now-APR.

In a league with 7 teams; 20 players each....potential is almost meaningless...even in a keeper...

    *EDIT*

And keep in mind the Pittsburgh depth chart:

    Now:
    Letang
    Goligoski

    Dec:
    Whitney
    Letang
    Goligoski

    Jan-Feb:
    Gonchar
    Whitney
    Letang
    Goligoski (Trip to Minors)

I currently own both Mccabe and Bouw in my keeper format, and I was quite nervous about having two Panthers, because of possible +/- troubles.

To your question though, I would keep both Mccabe and Bouwmeester for a couple of reasons.

    1) Bouw is likely getting traded at the deadline, so (happy day) no more Panthers! You will get 15 games of him on a likely contender, and in FA this summer, likely a better home

    2) WHen Whitney and Gonchar get back, kiss Goli\'s ice-time goodbye. I understand he has good upside in keeper formats, but in my mind Whitney, and Letang are still better D-men. Plus, Gonchar still has a few years left in the tank.

3)Mccabe sees nothing but tons of PP time. He\'s still good for 45-50 points a season, and he still has 3-4 good years left imo.
