Mueller or Stastny

For this year who is a better bet?
In the long run who am I better off as part of the core of my team?

Both should be the center pieces of their teams. Phx should have a better supporting cast but something tells me that if I have the opportunity to get Stastny I should do it.

I like both players and this is for a keeper league with no positional requirements. I am in a tough bind where I have to look to the future.

statsny is a better bet, hes proven he can and will score at more than a point per game in the nhl, mueller is still a couple years away from that level. I also dont think injury worries are as huge with statsny as a lot of people presume. he missed a lot of time last year but that was an appendectomy so not very reflective of his durability

I\'d snag Stastny over Mueller as well. My hunch is that Mueller is more talent dependant, while Stastny is capable of being the guy. Both very good players though.

I prefer to own players who can get their points regardless of who they play with. Guys like Ovechkin, Crosby, Thornton, Datsyuk, Savard....and to a little lesser extent Stastny fit that bill.

Stastny is going to be a very good player in this league for a long time. I\'d rather have Stastny than an unproven, less talented and not much younger player in Mueller.
