So I have been playing for the last week or so.

Is it the same word for everyone each day? I assume so.

I don't want to spoil it for anybody who hasn't played yet. But today I found myself in a situation where I knew exactly what the last 4 letters were, however didn't know the first letter. And it was a word where SEVERAL words would fit. I had it that way after 2 guesses and then kept guessing incorrectly. I did get it correctly, but it was quite possible to miss.

So this isn't the word for today, but for instance, what if the word is actually TEACH and you know it's _EACH. Well, it could be beach, leach, peach, reach... Is it cheating, to not use the spaces you know but you end wasting a turn on something like "BLURP" when you know it's "_EACH"? You need to figure out that first letter! LOL

I've done all of the Wordles through today and the scenario you describe regarding an often-used group of 4 letters is the only time I lose. Them's the breaks.

No that's good strategy, especially if you have spaces to burn.

I believe that's the difference between regular mode and hard mode. Hard mode forces you to only guess answers that could possibly be correct based on the letters you already know.

Haha, that's the way I've always played, didn't realize that there was an alternative.

Great questions. Yes it's the same word for everyone each day.

I believe "hard mode" you have to use the letters you know already. So in normal wordle, that could be an effective strategy. I don't believe you can just input random letters, it actually has to be a word though.
