Did not get it right today. First time in a while.

It was a tough one. I had to take a second and re think it.

I had 3 guesses in a row that didn't add any new info. Really pissed me off.

I find lately they enjoy the double letters in their words. I find myself looking for that more regularly now.

Seems like many are losing interest in Wordle since the move over to NYT on Feb 11. I was curious if it had to do with the brand or the fact that it got so popular that people started to fatigue from it. Or if there was a change in the quality of words. I know a lot of people dislike it when letters repeat in a word so I was curious if that had occurred more frequently since the move over happened:

Feb 11 - Feb 28 - 8/18 had repeating letters, including 1 word that only had 3 unique letters
Jan 26 - Feb 11 - 1/18 had repeating letters
Jan 8 - Feb 10 - 4/18 had repeating letters

I couldn't find an easily readable list that went back further than January, but I feel like it's pretty obvious that the frequency of repeating letters has gone up since the NYT move. This shows that it's more than anecdotal. Even if you factor in the 3 words from Jan 1 - 6, that means that Worldle has had as many responses with repeating letters in 18 days as it did from Jan 1 - Feb 10.

I usually don't mind it myself as it adds an extra little challenge, but I did find the choice of the word VIVID to be particularly dirty.

Anyway, now that I've wasted way more time than I should have on a subject nobody really cares about, I should get back to fantasy hockey.

I think that NYT has expanded the word list, which subsequently makes it harder. I read an article about it where the original creator said that from a list of 10,000+ potential Wordle words, his significant other whittled down the list to about 2,000 that she felt were more accessible. I'll do it forever because it is such a small thing and makes me think that I did at least one productive thing each day.

I lost interest when I randomly lost my 30 day streak after the switch to NYT and had to start back at 0 just because it didn't transfer. I still do them from time to time, but not an everyday routine like I had before.

Just when my interest starts to wane, I finally guess it in 2!

Had the second and last letters green on my first guess. The whole process took under 30 seconds today!
