Maybe I'm crazy but I don't see the twins in that type if role where the fans could start to hate them, or put themselves in a position/role where they could get fired by the organization. Who knows.

Experience and cronyism. Nepotism could also work, but that's not in play here.

To be fair though, in many areas, it's the older workers who are getting let go due to being too old & expensive.

By all accounts, the Skalde's brought the incident up to Penguin management 7 months or so after it had occurred and it was dealt with promptly. The coach left the organization and there are no reports of him receiving a recommendation from them as far as I've seen. Out of curiosity, what else is the team reasonably expected to do beyond ending their contract with the accused?

The fact that this story is receiving very little coverage in the wake of #metoo and being investigated concurrently with the Blackhawks scandal suggest that there isn't actually much to see here.

Odds are Rutherford is clean and I'm quite confident he has been questioned thoroughly about it all, especially by the NHL let alone the Canucks.

It should be a good move for the team because he isn't a part of their Old Boys Club and has plenty of connections and experience to support the new GM for wheeling and dealing and buffer him from the Aquilini's.
