There's no way this investigation is still (if it ever was) about Kane and a suspension. It shouldn't take 2 weeks to confirm how he travelled and whether it requires a suspension. This likely includes talks of a settlement and a lot of lawyers.

I really hope Dreger is correct this time saying it should be concluded mid-week. These insiders have been saying for over a week it'll be done by X date and it never is.

They’re definitely taking their time reviewing…..since it’s the reason SJ terminated Kane’s contract… could the NHL a) agree with SJ and issue further penalties to Kane for his actions?… or b) Bettman protects the players contract, stopping a “precedent” from happening so other teams don’t go terminating contracts to get around the salary cap? … Does the NHL have the power to reverse the termination or would they just go with it and let them settle it in court ???

Believe the NHL is on record as supporting the contract termination in this case? I think it's been widely reported that the NHL is investigating whether a further suspension is coming. That's why Edmonton (or anyone else) can't sign him....if they sign Kane and he gets a lengthy suspension, that's 100% dead cap space.
