Default Trade away DeAngelo or keep?

So DeAngelo is playing well. He's been a nice own for points but I'm wondering if I should cash in on him or just hold all season?

I've had a single GM say a few times in conversation he wants DeAngelo. He's got some nice pieces like Kucherov (except we only have 1 IR slot), Crosby, and Brady Tkachuk as well as Tarasenko and Seguin. There's some decent D on FA so a 2 for 1 or a 3 for 2 is an option.

Any thoughts on what to do with DeAngelo or suggestions on what to offer this GM who wants him?

I am keeping him. He is the only offensive defenseman on one of the NHL's best teams and he is producing. Great deployment is sure to continue.
That being said, if you can get one of the better aforementioned for him, go for it.
I have had no inquiries on him and thats fine with me.
He's a douchebag but N.C. is full of those so he will fit in better than NY.

I think that this year will be the best year of his career, past and future, due to surroundings and imputing a desire to be on good behavior to show the NHL that he can be good. Past behavior and my thinking this is his peak would lead me to keep my ear open for offers, even at 90% of what his value would be if his past was squeaky clean. If you can sell at value, great, but I'd be ok selling at a slight discount just to eliminate the behavior risk.

Thanks. I can ask him if he'll trade me Brady for DeAngelo. Otherwise I'll just hold him.

If you can get one of those big 3 names, sure, deal him.

He said no 1 for 1. Wants Nurse and DeAngelo for Brady (post Nurse update). Seems like too much to me considering Nurse covers SOG and Hits well and DeAngelo covers points very well and this leaves me with 2 empty D slots.

Thoughts on countering with Nurse and DeAngelo for Brady and Theodore?

As long as his off ice issues don’t hurt him in Carolina, I would keep him.

Yeah I think he's hoping with the recent injuries to my players I'll trade him these guys to improve my team short term.

I'd be tempted to keep him. I got him, myself.

Who are the other defense out there available when you said there are reasonable replacement options?

(edit... Just reading up on Brady a bit as I haven't paid close attention... Doesn't look like enormous value... then again, I'm in a points league and think like a points-leaguer )

Reviving this instead of creating a new thread.

GM said he'd do Kadri and DeAngelo for Crosby. Do I accept, or say I'll do those 2 for Brady?

FA defensemen include guys like Gavrikov, Provorov, Parayko, Suter, Forsling. Pretty big downgrade from DeAngelo, but the upgrade from Kadri to Crosby is appealing.

sometimes its better off just riding the wave. deangelo could put up 70 points this season. from a dman that was likely drafted in the late rounds, that is incredibly valuable
