Nice to see Bunting in 4th here. Fair. I think Swayman should be higher, and likely will be higher by season end.

You can still double your money by betting on Seider to win the Calder.

At the pace he's on....Caufield is going to steal some votes from guys like Bunting.

He's a PPG since 2022 started. If he can actually sustain a PPG status for the final 21 games he'd finish with 50pts. Bunting is at 47pts right now, but recency bias could steal votes from other guys.

I'm a little surprised by the lack of Tanner Jeannot, love. He might not be a Calder consideration, but IMO he's the Fantasy Hockey Rookie of the Year in banger leagues.

    24G, 17A, 41P, +2, 130 PIM, 3 PPP, 318 HIT

The thing that surprised me wasn't just Jeannot's performance, it's how consistent he was all season, week after week. I thought he might eventually become the next Tom Wilson when I picked him up last year, but certainly not this productive this soon since Nashville often plays him further down the lineup.

He finished 1st in Hits amongst all forwards, which was 2nd overall behind Gudas and the only Forward to clear 300 hits.

He also was 2nd in PIM amongst all Forwards behind Maroon and 3rd overall. Plus he was the only player league wide to clear 20 Goals, 40 Points 100 PIM & 300 Hits.

There's no doubt he was a fantasy darling this year. In real life, he's not really in the discussion as there are "sexier" picks out there. This poll, in the "Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey" section of the forums is all about real life stuff.

Maybe next year we could start a thread in the fantasy section for ROY and MVP.

    Seider. Zegras. Bunting.

Not surprising given how Bunting finished the season.

Bunting shouldn't be near this conversation for the simple reason of his age.

Meh. It's in the rules. The rest shouldn't matter.

I have little faith they will do it, but I hope Bunting wins it.

I don't see how Seider doesn't win. I think Bunting is a distant third for me.

Bunting was tied for 2nd in goals, 2nd in assists, first in points, 2nd in +/-. So I think it's not a shock he was nominated. Be mad at the rules if you think because he's 26yrs old he doesn't deserve to be there. The fact he's 2days off from the cut off (Sept 15th cut off, Sept 17th his bday) shouldn't effect what he's done.

Kirill Kaprizov and Artemi Panarin were 24yrs old when they won and people were upset when Panarin won, but less upset when Kaprizov won, but now upset that Bunting is nominated? Binnington was 25yrs old when he was nominated. Kubalik was 24yrs old when he was nominated. Nedeljkovic was 25yrs old when he was nominated. It happens every yr where there's guys being nominated (or winning) the Calder who are in their mid-20s. This yr people are just more vocal because it's the Leafs stealing a player when they just lost Hyman. Same reason why people were mad at Panarin winning it but not Kaprizov. Chicago was a good team who had cap casualties and replaced them with a free asset.
