I would take DeAngelo here. He could be a real game-changer if he pans out.
Hi all,
The draft is coming soon, I have to pick 6 players: 3F, 2D and 1G
I really have a hard time to set my mind on my first pick, between DeAngelo and Hintz. Maybe Kurmper as well, but since I'm 7th, he should be gone.
Here is my team
McDavid
Point
Aho
Teravainen
Seguin
Fiala
Garland
Konecny
Necas
Caufield
Batherson
Makar
Chabot
Petry
Pietrangelo
Vasilevskyi
Thanks

I would take DeAngelo here. He could be a real game-changer if he pans out.

Hintz
Kuemper if he's there. If not, it depends on your risk tolerance. DeAngelo is feast or famine - Hintz should be steady & helpful.

I trust Hintz more. I already traded a head sore in Evander Kane. Don't need another.
I am a hockey obsessed fiend.
My fear is that both in fact represent a risk. We all know the flip sides of DeAngelo and Hintz seems a bit injury prone, plus with Seguin's return his upside might be affected.
As for Kuemper only one G counts, and I have Vasilevskyi.
But those are the 3 players I have identified as the most interesting asset.
You've got the best goalie in the league, so getting Kuemper is a bonus not a need. You have a pretty solid 4 dmen corps so adding DeAngelo gives you very good depth. You also have a good collection of forwards and I think this is where you will gain the most value in upgrading. So I would choose Hintz but I agree that DeAngelo could be a difference maker here so it does depend on your risk tolerance. Good luck.
Call me old one more time.

I say swing for the fences and go with DeAngelo. The rest of your lineup is really solid so you can afford the risk, which in my opinion isn't much of a risk, I think he's learned his lesson for now.

I'd want to know if DeAngelo is vaccinated. Just a guess that he may be another Bertuzzi.
If he is vaccinated then I would likely roll the dice on him. Risk reward type thing.
Safer play is Hintz.
Kuemper if he makes it to you.
Thats my 2 sense

I’m taking Hintz over TDA.
Roope has as much homerun potential as DeAngelo, with less risk imo. Hintz could become your 5th or 6th best forward by the end of the season.

Based on all your feedback, slight edge on Hintz but it's pretty much 50% - 50%

Hintz for me.
I don't think Deangelo can outscore the 4D you have... and that's all you count.
It's almost worth taking Hintz off the board just so another team can't count him - he has that much upside.
