RIP to that beauty.
Me Doing Standup(2011)...and I’m pretty sure, I’m not a doctor, but I’m pretty sure if you die, the cancer dies at the same time. That’s not a loss. That’s a draw.
Norm has been one of my favourite comics for a long time and the world is a bit sadder with news of his passing today... or so the Germans would have us believe.
Death is a funny thing. Not funny haha, like a Woody Allen movie, but funny strange, like a Woody Allen marriage.
RIP to that beauty.

Loved his dry humour. RIP
I was telling my wife yesterday, that even though he wasn't the biggest face of stand-up, SNL, or movies...
It felt like his style of humour defined our/my generation (moreso than say Jim Carrey or Chris Rock or others).
Sort of a "Let me tell you about how [thisthing/thisperson/you] suck"...
And afterwards - you just love him for saying it as matter of point.
RIP.
I loved this kind of stuff followed by that wry stare.

I watched a lot of YouTube last night and I'm not sure if they were tears of laughter or sadness coming from me but this celebrity death stings more than I'd like to admit. I can't really watch YouTube while I'm at work but I have been reading Norm stories people having been sharing. I can't stop laughing at this one about a job interview he had with the Ottawa Citizen
Letterkenny writer Trevor Risk shared a story about a job interview Macdonald had with The Ottawa Citizen, which he landed through brother and longtime CBC journalist Neil Macdonald. Risk writes that TheCitizen "first asked Norm why he wanted to work for them, and he gave a long answer about the 'search for truth.' The next question was 'Do you have a car?' and Norm said 'I happen to believe that the truth is within walking distance of me at all times.'"
The Comedy World Reacts to Norm Macdonald's Death
About a year before his passing, the night before he was to undergo a medical procedure, Norm recorded a sort-of "If you're watching this, I'm dead" comedy special from his living room. The procedure was a success but, well, here we are and the special will be released on May 30th by Netflix.

“His test results were not good, so during the heart of COVID-19 pandemic and literally the night before going in for a procedure, he wanted to get this on tape just in case — as he put it — things went south,” Lori Jo Hoekstra, Macdonald’s longtime producing partner, tells The Hollywood Reporter. “It was his intention to have a special to share if something happened.”
The result was a stand-up special shot in Macdonald’s living room. The actor filmed the entire hour in a single take. “He looks great and the material’s fantastic,” Hoekstra says.
As it turned out, Macdonald made it through the medical procedure just fine and the footage was literally tossed in a closet. But Macdonald became very ill a year later, before his special could be properly filmed before an audience. “He ended up getting sicker last August and September, and he remembered he had shot this and asked me to find it so he could watch it,” Hoekstra says. “He ended up watching it before he passed away.” Macdonald even suggested a characteristically self-deprecating title for the hour: Nothing Special.
Netflix will release the surprise program — Norm Macdonald: Nothing Special‚ on May 30.
Just watched it, classic Norm. Was nice to see some of his closest friends reminiscing about him. I like the way Norm helped a grieving Chappelle without ever bringing up his dad.
