Great to get some C depth. Nice signing Flyers!
He's probably there as a 13th forward but should get a regular turn in the lineup when injuries start to hit. Smart pick up. He's got some game left as a bottom-six option.
Does this affect Frost at all? I know its already he gets a regular starting role. Is this someone else in his way?

I'm hoping Brassard is just center insurance - and doesn't affect Frost.
It may actually be a positive thing for Frost... as I've been hoping PHI would give him time on the 3rd line wing instead of hampering his offensive game with two-way C responsibility.
I'm hoping (!) with PHI's center depth - that this is an indicator that they plan to play Frost on the wing: all.season.
PHI should roll a C3/C4 of Laughton/Thompson. (If either goes down, then Brassard flexes in. Laughton is also playing well enough to patch up to C2 if a top line center gets injured).
Fun Fact: Nate Thompson has been 50%+ on the dot for every regular season going back to 2011-12 with Tampa Bay - when he was 49.5%.
Always fun to look at a career of face-off percentages for vets... they almost always trend slowly up.
Thompson was a 60% guy on the dot during PHI's 2020 post-season run... PHI remembers that.
If healthy:
Giroux - Couturier - Konecny
Farabee - Hayes - Atkinson
JVR - Laughton - Allison/Frost (depending on who is playing better)
Lindblom - Thompson - NAK
Extras: Allison/Frost, Brassard
Hopefully that's their 14F.
Fun Note for PHI fans.
DailyFaceoff has PHI's topline D of Provorov-Ellis as a Rating of 76.62, good enough to rank as #3 DL1. (Nice!)

Provorov-Ellis...
Mmm... good news for PHI fans... good news for Hart owners.
I believe Aube-Kubel has good value (metric).
I think he'll be part of their everyday line-up on the 4th (checking) line.
Allison adds some grit/scoring, so he's likely a 3rd liner.
