I'm not really sure he can make up for it at this point and would than be a fool's errand to try and do so. Would be better to strengthen what you have going for you.
I mean, guys like Gaudreau, Backstrom (or even Eichel) are still available. There are players who could help him back into the middle of the pack. I'm not a huge fan of punting offensive categories (or any category other than +/-) because it very rarely wins to anything but a middle of the pack finish. I'd rather go looking for upside on offense in the later rounds and try to make up some ground.

    But to each his own!

aside from a past keeper league where I drafted well I tend to finish right in the middle in roto . lets see if the streak continues

    "But to each his own!"

Well I did say I don't really know lol. My strategy is always to draft those offensive cats in the first few rounds to get the jump in those then fill out with the banger types later. When drafting my aim is to get 2nd or 3rd in every category.

So I'm in unfamiliar waters with how Steve started his draft to know precisely the optimum way for him to navigate moving forward.

Nice pick there with Marchessault, I was hoping he would fall to me. Always underrated in this format.

Thanks... he’s a guy that brings value and category coverage and someone I try to target in roto leagues.

interesting how the days of 5 ? 8 ? goalies you can count on to be stud 60+ gp starters ,good for 35 + wins etc. is temporarily gone while the new wave of young studs get their feet wet .

More and more goaltending is a crap shoot. Unfortunately (or fortunately) goalie cats are heavily weighted in this roto setup and you need to get that right balance.

Yeah, once the top 4 of Vas, Helle, Kuemper and Lehner were gone, I thought I'd wait for goalies. I usually try to target top goalies from top teams but they all have question marks.

Edm - Do I really trust a 39 year old Mike Smith?
Bos - Do I really trust an unproven and injury prone Ullmark?
Fla - Do I pick Bob or will Knight eat into his starts?
Tor - Who's the starter, Mrazek or Campbell?
Pit - Do I really trust Jarry to rebound?
    NYI - Varlamov or Sorokin?

    Better to wait and see.

I think some of us will draft with the goal of getting the ''tandem'' but it could be tricky . I like how we can use a few of the utility spots for goalies if we want to head down that road

Almost did. I stress out though if I'm not prepared and I have done zero prep work yet for any of my leagues lol. I wouldn't enjoy it.

Yeah, that will give a big advantage to those who draft 4 or even 5 goalies. They should have a clear advantage in the goalie counting stats.

I'm doing it at the same time. I'm halfway through my projections and done with what should be the top 150 players drafted in this draft so I can focus on more depth guys for the deeper leagues I'm in. I'm on vacation though, so the stress is way down for me!

Don't know. I'll let someone else start it and I'll grab best available when my turn comes again.
