    Default Which rookies to draft?

I have the 1st, 5th and 6th overall picks in our rookie draft tomorrow. All-cat league. Goals heavily weighted. I’m deep at D and C, lacking Ws and G. How should I approach the draft tomorrow?

    I’m thinking:

    1- Eklund
5- Guenther if available. If not, Johnson.
    6- Wallstedt

What do you think? I could also go 1F 1W and 1G. Or no G at all. So many options!

I like what you have set up. Eklund would be top 3 for me or even 1 if you don’t need a Dman. Wallstedt is another I’d pick in your position of need. If Guenther is there at 5 I would consider him as well. I think you have a sound draft plan for tomorrow. Hopefully you get the guys you want. Good luck

I like your thoughts here. All great players. I’m very high on Wallstedt but I’m obviously not the only one lol.

I drafted yesterday in a similar position where I both had the 1st overall + a second top 10 pick and was fairly solid on D, needing forwards and goaltending. I ended up taking Wallstedt at 1. Thinking being that the gap between him and Cossa is much greater than the group of top forwards. I would not be surprised if Wallstedt goes between 2 & 4 if you pass on him. If you take Wallstedt at 1, you still end up with two of Eklund, Beniers, Guenther, Johnson, McTavish, Lysell with the 5th and 6th picks.
