he shoudl have 2 years in him yes....but in 2 years meier shoudl be where wheeler is right now and he will have 6-8 years more..if you won with what you got...keep the players, dont get older
So I won the championship and looking to upgrade a few guys. I do like Meier but last year he didn’t really help me and doesn’t produce enough. Does Wheeler still have a good 2 years in him at 34 yo?

Timo Meier's shooting percentage was almost half of his career norm last year. He could easily double his goals next year. Only caveat is the team around him for assists. Wheeler is heavily propped up by that power play and his 5x5 play is quickly deteriorating. I'd hold Meier.
Move on from Meier. Do not trust.
I am a hockey obsessed fiend.
The throw back question is, what do you consider two good years to be? Wheeler will undoubtedly slow down, he was a 90+ 82GP pace 3 and 4 years ago. The last two years, 75GP pace. I don't see a huge regression over the next two years, 65 - 75 GP pace is realistic IMO. So, do those types of numbers have value in your league and for your team? If not, then now would be a good time to try and trade Wheeler, a few savy GM's should still see value there although most think a guy north of 30 is washed up.
Meier is the wild card here. He has been trending in the wrong direction for the last two years. He may turn things around, but, he may not. Given a best case scenario, I'm not sure Meier can put up a whole lot more than 65 points on the season. The good news is, he is only 24, so he is just entering his prime. If the Sharks can start to turn things around Meier could have some good years ahead, but next year is not likely one of them.
Perhaps you should try and move both these guys for an upgrade if you can, but failing that, I'm going into next year with Wheeler.

I like these points. However I am the one with Meier and looking to trade him for Wheeler since I am competing and won last year(by 800pts) however the guy in 2nd didnt have Kuch(wouldnt have made a difference if he did play) so I’m just trying to upgrade a spot or two even if it means sacrificing youth which i don’t mind too much as a lot of my good players are young anyways. I’m just skeptical if Wheeler can continue being a 65ish guy.
again, i dont think you ganing enough to sacrifice 6-8 years..

Understood. All I can suggest is to do a deep dive in player comparisons and upside and current 2 - 3YP. Factor in each of these guys playing environments. My opinion only, but I'm making the move to acquire Wheeler. A few last points, while I like Meier, he is far from an elite talent, projecting out several years I think he has a 65 - 70 point ceiling. I can part with that average potential to win another championship. You have a lot of youth with much better upside than Meier, he is expendable IMO. BTW, I note PIM is a scoring cat for you, Wheeler will put up twice the PIM that Meier will and I'm confident he will outscore Meier next year and perhaps a year after that. Whatever you decide, good luck!!
