So half the insiders are saying that Seattle has a ton of deals coming tomorrow, half are saying there’s a couple. Some are saying the deals have nothing to do with “side deals” in terms of player selections and that none of those deals were made, and some are saying a bunch of them were made. That seems to be the actual suspenseful part of all of this, just very interesting that very credible people are going on record reporting such different things.

Was it me or was it weird how they announced the picks?

It wasn't alphabetical. It wasn't like they announced the last 6 guys were the ones there. It wasn't by division.

    Just odd.

Also a reporter asked Bill Daly for some clarification on Seattle's trade privilege's and this is what was said:

    - Expansion-draft related transactions had to be submitted before "this morning" (yesterday)
    - Follow-up transactions can't be announced until 1:00pm tmo (today)

So, that would be there wasn't any official "If you don't take Price, we'll give you this player". However it doesn't close the door on "Remember when we didn't take Price? That was a favour" type of trades they might cash in now.

So is it safe to assume that the players that were there in jerseys are not part of any of the side deals?

I'd say it would be weird to draft Giordano and then to move him before playing a game when you walked him out in your jersey. But there's also been talk the NYR want him.

So who knows. With COVID, maybe he was a guy that could get to the team quick enough since he apparently drove into the city (said that last night). And maybe some of the non-NA based guys were overseas with family and getting a flight for a day of being shown to a city isn't worth the hassle right now.

That was my exact thought process.

Unless the return for him is something special... it could be a hard pill to swallow when he actually wore the jersey and talked and such.

I haven't fully reviewed this thread... but if Axeman has 12 correct... that's probably enough to make him the winner.
[Edit: Congrats to Stencil who also got 12 correct.]
If anybody else got 12 or more... let me know.

My own list... 10 I think... sort of average. Meh. I had fun.

I've heard Soucy may end up being the better fit for the Rangers than Gio.

I also like the Buch for Ekholm idea I saw someone toss out. I'll take that all-day on Nashville's end.

Would have had 13 if I din't have a brain farth. Forgot Dunn and picked Tarasenko but it was obvious that Dunn would be the pick.

Axeman posted before me but can't see if/when his post was edited after his original list.

So, question: Is there a reasonable chance that this is an intentional “going for the 2022 draft lottery” story? 2022 is reportedly much stronger than 2021, and Francis may be planning to have 3 picks in the first 10. Sure looks like Tanking at the draft, then hoping to flip his best for picks.

12-team, H2H. Keep 12, but drop 2 of top four skaters, and also 2 of next six, then five more (from end-of-year rankings). One GK max.
