Default Ranking some young Forwards please

I'd like to know how others would rank/value the following young forwards both short and long term:

    Texier
    Troy Terry
    Nicholas Roy
    Michael Bunting
    Nolan Patrick
    John Leonard
    Ruotsalainen
    Krebs

I'm not certain just yet how many of these guys I will be able to protect but inevitably some will need to be dropped. Scoring stats are in Sig.

Krebs would be at the top of my list. Nolan Patrick has the 2nd overall pedigree, which I don't think was undeserved at the time. Word was leaking today that he's wanting a fresh start somewhere else. If you can stomach the injury concerns, his potential is (hopefully) still there.

As for the rest.... I mean, Ruotsalainen, Leonard and Bunting, I have to assume, were waiver pickups. They'll continue to be streaming type players, so no one who I would spend a keeper spot on.

    Let's go with something like:

    Krebs

    Patrick

    Terry
    Texier
    Roy

    Bunting
    Ruotsalainen
    Leonard

    Krebs
    Texier
    Patrick
    Ruotsalainen
    Roy
    Leonard
    Bunting
31 TEAMS keep all multi-cat (lot of them) dynasty
Offensive stats : Goals, Assist , PPP, PPTOI, SOG...
Defensive stats : PKTOI, BLKS, TakeAway, Giveaway...
    (basically best NHL player)

We're in a bit of a pickle. John Leonard is too low on picklepickle's list. He has 25-30 goal upside. Yes, he can and has the tools to reach it. In fact I am more confident that he does vs. doesn't. When given a look in the top-six he looked like he fit in. Like he belonged with the stars of the team. Then he got demoted, despite still looking good and struggled at times in the bottom-six... SHOCKING! Point is if his usage is better utilized with mins and linemates to succeed in a scoring capacity, he has the shot, IQ, and skating (shifty that one), he can and should be that guy.

He looked crazy good in college, leading the nation in goals and followed it up with a very short AHL stint, that was highlighted with a 7 SOG game. Looked great in the camp, being favoured on the top line, even starting the Sharks opening night there assisting on two goals.

I would have him in the top 3-4 for now and could move up from there. I am not convinced Nolan Patrick is a bust (yet), but he's trending that way. Injuries, confidence and inconsistency issues have played to his downward trajectory.

    Peyton Krebs
    Alexandre Texier
    John Leonard

OMG! He didn't even remember Troy Terry! PICKLES! Bubba asked you for Terry as well. C'mon!

Michael Bunting - If what he showed is more of what we'll see. His last two pro seasons have shown a huge spike in production. He also moves into top-3 if he continues growing his game. Potentially top two.
Nolan Patrick - Yeah. Unless he can overcome his issues, I don't care where he was taken. He's looking more like the Nail Yakupov of 2nd overall picks. But at age 22, there is still a chance he can turn it around. But every year he has trended down or at the very least hasn't shown much growth, and it's started since he finished his pre draft year. Looked so good at 16-18.
Troy Terry - I feel there is a player there, but it really depends where he lands.
Artu Ruotsalainen *He shoots up into the top 2 depending on Buffalo's lines. This kid has been very good-to-dominate at every level so far and looked good in his Sabres stint. 25 goal prorate over 82 games. If he keeps that up he slots second behind Leonard. I do believe John can fight for him in that spot depending how Boughner uses him. If he's still the coach.
Nicholas Roy - Verdict is still out whether he's a bottom sixer or a middle-sixer but there seems to be a good NHLer there. Now whether he's a fantasy worthy own, remains to be seen.

I like this ranking, though I'd probably bump Leonard up a spot or two. One player on this list I was keeping eye on last season is Terry. He's got some skills, scored some highlight reel goals with sick dangles. I think he could end up being a solid top sixer.

Yeah forgot Terry, probably put him between Roy and Ruotsalainen

Thanks for everyone's input! Keep er' coming.

I have some tough decisions to make. I also noticed that I failed to include Dillon Dube on this list, my bad. I think he is definitely in this discussion, I'd be interested to know how folks see him fitting in to these rankings.

Absolulely. I simply extended the courtesy to allow others to submit they're lists, but I fully intended all along to wait for yours and then go with it (:

The only players on this list that are of fantasy interest are Krebs, Ruostilainen, and Patrick. Maybe Leonard on the bubble with hits. The rest are completely droppable/equally not of interest.

I am not at all against this. Patrick still has that 2nd overall pick tag, which means someone will still buy into his age/potential value.

I like Leonard as well because San Jose needs a talent him like to flourish. Their future outlook isn't the most promising. They only have a few future guys I like. Also a fan of Bordeleau as mentioned in numerous threads. haha

As for Texier, I like the safeness of him. While I am not confident in his high-end offensive game, I feel the style of game he plays makes him a long-term NHLer. Whether he ever turns into a true fantasy stud, that I don't know. I'm thinking no. Which is why I go based on today. Tomorrow I have a few guys on Bubba's list leapfrogging him.
