For 22-23, if they had Eichel and Kaprizov, that would give them 5 F, 5 D, and 1 G signed for that season with a cap hit of $60 million. That leaves them with $8.8 million to sign 9 skaters AND a goalie to ice a minimum roster. The following year is even worse. Even if they did move Zuc, Dumba, or Spurgeon it's still not enough money to be remotely competitive and they are worse for losing any of those guys. It just doesn't work.

With the Parise and Sutter buyouts they sit at $68 mil in 22-23 and $66 mil for 23-24/24-25 in cap space.

If an Eichel deal isn't done on Friday for this yrs picks, I don't know how likely they move Eichel before the season. Same with Reinhart, and Ristolainen.

I said this elsewhere - the Sabres not being transparent with medical records under the guise of "we'll show them to serious suitors only" reeks of bad faith negotiation. Send GMKA your "best offer", get medical records, realize that his neck is the same or better than expected and now GMKA uses your "best offer" as a starting point to get more since you're now comfortable trading for Eichel. Or the records are worse than expected, but you've shown your hand and are now negotiating against yourself, and GMKA is trying to keep you to the terms of the original offer that you never would have presented in the first place.

Do what Armstrong is doing in STL, giving Tarasenko's records to ensure confidence in Tank's health, will maximize the Eichel return for BUF and end this drama on way or another.

i can't believe buffalo is dragging their feet here. I agree, if you are asking for all these picks, why wouldnt you make the move prior to the draft so you could actually use those picks on who you want.
