Buffalo would be stupid not to get a King's Ransom for Jack Eichel. He's the best Sabre since Pat Lafontaine and their best last drafted stud since Pierre Turgeon.

Yes, and Winnipeg wanted to bring in a C (Dubois) to play with Laine. That's part of what makes trading for Eichel so hard. To get him you need to give up assets that gut your team which negates the benefit of bringing him in.

I really can't see Minny trading Kaprizov, much less adding anything terribly noteworthy to boot. And if I'm Buffalo, I don't think Kaprizov (and even some minor throw-ins) is enough to make it worthwhile. The Sabres need multiple pieces to improve overall, which is why the reported ask is what it is (i.e., a couple high-end roster players and a couple top prospects).

I would imagine Rossi will be a key piece in an Eichel deal.

I'm more in line with believing he's not being traded at this point.

they could fit both eichel and kaprizov but theyd be moving out some pretty significant pieces the other way to make the numbers work. im not sure the team would actually be better in this scenario, im not even sure how healthy jack is.

jack is not healthy...that we know....how soon can he come back? who knows....and main pieces in deal for jack will not be taking care of minis cap....it will be Rossi or Boldy, maybe both, probably addisson and bunch of picks at very least...could also be a roster player and if im Buffalo im asking for Fiala.

For 22-23, if they had Eichel and Kaprizov, that would give them 5 F, 5 D, and 1 G signed for that season with a cap hit of $60 million. That leaves them with $8.8 million to sign 9 skaters AND a goalie to ice a minimum roster. The following year is even worse. Even if they did move Zuc, Dumba, or Spurgeon it's still not enough money to be remotely competitive and they are worse for losing any of those guys. It just doesn't work.
