97 days, as of today. But still, that's not a lot of time. Acquiring GMs have to be thinking that if he avoids surgery but has to be shut down halfway through the season, that they'll have LTIR to use but then they need to deal even more assets to fill the void. If they agree to the surgery then how fit will he be in the second half of the season, especially since we just saw what the entire league went through with the Covid disruption? This is a cautious and conservative bunch by nature. You can say they should be playing to win, but they're going to try to minimize risk which is going to continue to limit how high the Eichel offers go IMO.

Eichel has to be even more annoyed that his surgery still hasnt happened because of Buffalo. Buffalo is also shooting themselves in the foot by not allowing the surgery too. A healthy Eichel returns much more than an Eichel who still needs neck surgery and recovery time...

honestly if that many doctors are saying jack doesnt need the surgery, im pretty concerned with his mentality of it all.

usually its the other way around where the athlete doesnt want surgery but the doctors do

That many doctors? Do we have a ledger of how many are on each side? We know Buffalo doesn’t want the surgery and Eichel’s medical team does. To me that appears to be 1-1. We know some trade suitors are wary of the surgery and some aren’t. We don’t have a number on each side.

i dont have a specific number and im somewhat lumping in other team's doctors who would also advise their gm to be risk averse.

after seeing what happened with tarasenko, i have no doubt eichel and team may very well be right. just a touchy subject right now since hes on the trade block. this would be less of an issue of the team was good and thriving

I would say Winnipeg, but that cap hit and we already have Scheifele, Dubois, and Perfetti. Stastny isn't returning. Bloody well hope not, unless it's on a sweet deal.

Jets can't afford Eichel, but as much as I love Perfetti and Heinola, I would do that trade... DAMN CAP! Oh man Eichel on the Jets would be so sexy!
