Habs have gotten really lucky with injuries/suspensions/timely scoring and Price is playing his best.

The Jets have struggled to score when Scheifele misses time for the past few seasons. He is their most important skater which is why I was very supportive of the Stastny and PLD acquisitions you can never have too much centre depths. In this case, it looks like Scheifele's hit of Evans will directly cause the Jets to lose the series barring a miracle comeback

So sad, so true, so obviously a "should not have done that" moment. BOOM! And he is UFA in 2024. Is he going to become trade bait or do the Jets fans look the other way?

I don't think it will affect his re-signing much. It's a rare play and his history is otherwise spotless. Learning experience and move on I would not have this as a reason not to re-sign him in 3 years.

Price probably asleep for that 2nd goal. 11 shots against - He's not use to that

Congrats to the Kings of the North. Winnipeg were under seige in their own zone all series long. They looked especially uncomfortable tonight, great Habs forecheck. Some R&R time now.

Yeah, not too bad from a guy who is supposed to be a finisher! lol

This series is why they play the games. Jets are the superior/more talented team on paper. Good thing for Habs fans that the game isn't played on paper.

So COL or VGK... I would guess COL be the better matchup for MTL??

As a Leafs fan I have this odd feeling inside of me where I am happy for the Habs and their playoff success, especially happy for Carey Price. Another well deserved series win.

Several Habs players had a monster series against the Jets, but I’m honestly shocked how poor Winnipeg looked during the four games. Clean exits were non-existent, they seemed to fight the puck all the time, their D were slow and easily pressured off the puck, etc. Habs’ system has really suffocated two good offensive teams in a row (albeit one without its top center but still).

I dunno if that was more MTL being good or Jets being bad, but wow. That was not a good series for a non-jets/habs fan wanting just a good series to enjoy, which is the type of series MTL wants.

    But wow, congrats habs.

I feel good for Kotkaniemi, Caufield and Romanov and at the same time kinda saddened for Helly.

My favourite question asked to Paul Maurice was last night was by someone from the Athletic. After a bunch of questions about how the loss of Scheifele (elite, top 10 player it was said) impacted the Jets, the guy said something along the lines of "Montreal doesn't have a Mark Scheifele, and they still beat you in four games. Thoughts?"

Maurice didn't answer, but I thought it was an excellent question. The reporter was pretty much saying that you can't use the Scheifele loss as an excuse.

That's actually a pretty solid question by the reporter because it wasn't like Price was outstanding. His stats were, but the Jets didn't push him really. Game 4, those goals Price let in were terrible.
