    Default Fiala Today

What are people thinking about Fiala right now? 5 game point streak.

Does anyone who follows him think he's on the verge of something big? Or just a nice, satisfactory point streak that any top 6 forward could have. Hard to predict. I have been trying to get rid of him.

I have heard Minnesota fans resigning themselves that he's not the star he appeared to be. He is really unpredictable.

He's still a very good player he's just left to play with scraps like Rask most of the time. Never gets to ride on a stacked line with Kaprisov.

21 minutes, 6 SOG, and a goal last night to keep the streak going. The PP is starting to click a bit more which is helping.

Definitely held back by his 5on5 linemates though. Basically if he's not the one scoring its unlikely anyone else will.

I agree with this. He’s a very good player stuck with mediocre linemates and help is not forthcoming any time soon. His deployment is not what a player of his ability should be, but this is mainly due to Minny not being a very good team so they start in their own zone more frequently.

Would you guys try to trade Fiala for Tarasenko right now for points only?

I would with those settings. Although the Blues are in a terrible funk, Tank has better linemates and deployment and is the more proven scorer. They’ll snap out of it eventually.

    Is anyone better available?

I've been offering him around. Offered for Hall, Laine. Rejected.
I'm out of drops so it has to be a trade.
I'm looking at Yamamoto, Radulov, Malkin(IR), Svechnikov, Matthew Tkachuk, those guys are owned and are in the same ball park I think...

There's more skill on the Blues PP for Tarasenko to work with, but he's on the Schenn-Schwartz line, which is decidedly a second fiddle line.

He had himself game last night. My offer for Tarasenko was rejected yesterday. Maybe I'll see how this pans out

He might have turned the corner. Just let it ride.

Or, you could be able to fetch a higher return now too if you still want to sell, can play off his torrid streak to end last season and a prequel for things to come this year

I'd just ride it out. You've waited this long.

I agree, though with his recent hotness, I was thinking of trying to package him with Suter - Fiala+Suter for Laine+Fox. Might not be enough, but what do you think?

That offer would not come close to cutting it in any of the leagues I play in. You never know I guess. I would likely just enjoy riding Fiala's hot hand. He had a great second half of the season last year.

Keep Fiala, he is still same guy we all hyped up at beginning of the season...he did ok until they had covid outbreak and then he took a while to come back strong but he has very high ceiling imo.

    Well, he went off.
Seems like he's had points in every game since I called him out for his weak season last week in my Capped article.
Best way for a player to turn his season around is for me to criticize it.

What about Fiala and Suter for Boeser and Fox

Truth is I can't see any Fiala Suter combination landing Fox, but that is with the shrewd guys I play with. Boeser is really not a downgrade from Laine in my opinion. Likely an upgrade. Again, feel out the Fox owner in your league, but unless he is either ridiculously smitten with Fiala or very unwise I really doubt either of these deals will move the needle for him.

I offered Klingberg straight up for Fox over a month ago, when Klinger was red hot and Fox was still meh, and the owner in my league passed. Now with Fox blowing up and sailing up the D man rankings I don't think anybody is moving him for anything but an elite established talent.
