What is everyone's thoughts on this? Happens all the time and we just don't hear about it?

A ref looking for an easy ''make up call'' happens all the time . Everyone knows it coming .
catching refs discussing it on a hot mic is unfortunate but its not going to change anything except for refs being more wise to when / if anyone on the referee roster that night is mic'ed up or not .

The ref is going to get punished via firing or some form of fine or whatever, but NOT 1 HOCKEY FAN WAS SHOCKED! It's so obvious this happens. Like it's Detroit the ref is trying to help, it's not like it's 2 top teams. They know the teams they are reffing.
It's not a shock at all.

To add some context to this, Peel was scheduled to retire later this season. His final game was April 24. Still think it’s a big punishment...taking that away from him

sometimes I long for the 1 ref , two linsemen system .So now that Peel was fired, i'm guessing this stuff will never happen again.
