Default Holtby v Labanc v ??? REP OFFERED

Keeper team in sig. Need to drop a guy by puck drop tonight.

Obvious skater candidate is Labanc, but he’s just heating up and on top line - much rather find a way to keep him for this years impact. But right now he’s bubble at best for next year and probably not a keeper.

On D it’s Sanheim - decent numbers but no PP time (until last night), plus he’s highly unlikely to be a keeper next year. but again loathe to lose a young guy

And then, ladies and gents, the elephant in the room - HOLTBY...

My goalie situation (with a tight goalie market) is in total flux - we start 2 and for this year, I’m playing Khudobin / Oettinger tandem for guaranteed starts and good peripherals but also Vanecek since he’s been a workhorse. It’s been ok. But when Bishop’s back Oettinger might not even play, and Vanecek is now going to timeshare too. None of them are surefire keepers next year, but compared to all of them the easy drop seems to be Holtby. Next year if i’m keeping any goalie, it’s not Holtby, and I haven’t played him in weeks cause he’s so unreliable, Canucks poor defensively, and Demko only improving. And my hope was to keep him thinking he might end up no 1 in Seattle but the chances of that are diminishing daily (if anything Khudobin is more likely to go there).

So what say you, drop Holtby? Labanc? Sanheim?

Holtby is terrible. I can see the canucks giving more starts to demko over these next couple of weeks. they really don't have anything to lose

Like you said, Labanc is heating up so I wouldn't be in a rush to drop him.

Ultimately Holtby is not going to be cracking your starting lineup any time soon. And if you do dress him, he is likely to have a negative impact rather than a positive one. So I think he has to be your drop here. It's tough, I owned the Vancouver tandem this year in my keeper as well and just dropped Holtby yesterday.
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

I would drop Holtby, when he does start he is likely to do more harm than good to your scoring categories.

Sanheim is very unlikely to see consistent PP time moving forward, as he's behind Provorov and whichever of Gostisbehere & Gustaffson suit up, which is sometimes, but rarely, both.

However, he's not going to be a negative, so I'd drop Holtby.

Close between Holtby and Sanheim for me. But gun to my head, I’m dropping Holtby.

Another reason for dropping Holtby is that the Canucks will be more inclined to give Demko as much starts to ensure that he is the goalie they want to protect.

I also double checked to see when Vancouver plays Ottawa again, as that is the only matchup I would feel semi-comfortable starting Holtby right now.

Its not until March 15 and March 17. So no sense holding him for that long.
