Svechnikov vs. Rantanen -- Preferred Keeper?

Hey All,

I managed to swing MacKinnon from an owner, at great cost for next season, but whatever. The thought of owning his line mate in Rantanen seems very appealing. However, I feel in order to get him, I would likely need to give up Svechnikov.

Question then becomes; who is the preferred keeper of the 2 over the new few years?

With your categories I prefer Svech. I have Rantanen in my league and was actually trying to get Svech from the other owner and he would not budge. You should be able to get Rantanen + for Svech if you are looking to make a deal.

I prefer Svech here. I think his personal ceiling is roughly the same as Rantanen's ceiling riding shotgun to Mack. Svech is the driver of the play moreso than Rantanen. Plus the hits from Svechnikov really even it out.

This is a close one but I think I'd go with Rantanen. His scoring ceiling is higher than Svech, and hits tend to drop off as a player gets older

Close call but I prefer Svech

I'd keep Svechnikov. He fits your categories well, is younger, and is on a different team, so a bit less likely to have roster crunch issues on busy nights.

I love the idea of pairing line mates of this caliber, but I’m still going svech here. He fits your format better than Rantanen. Very very close call though.
