Default Hoping to buy low on Zibanejad

    Hello folks

After reading this morning's article on the front page, I am interested in buying low on Zibanejad in the league in my sig. I don't want to low-ball too badly -- I want to make an offer that might actually be considered.

Does anyone on the roster below jump out at you as a good candidate? I was thinking maybe Olofsson, but he's doing so great I might wind up losing out.

For context I'm in second currently with a 4-0-0 record (1st place has a certain Oiler). Zibanejad's GM is in 8th with a 1-3-0

I'd try for Trocheck and see how that goes.

Josh Anderson could draw some interest there too.

My situation was similar to yours in terms of standings. Don't be afraid to try a 2 for 2. It could help mitigate loss in case Zibanejad doesn't improve.

I did this and landed Zibanejad and Makar for my Gaudreau and Nurse. If Zibanejad doesn't work out at least I got Makar in the trade.

I’m trying the same in my dynasty, I offered up Bjorkstrand and Copp as a starting point, I don’t expect that to get done but I’m hopeful that the other owner is feeling antsy.

I can't imagine a keeper league where Tocheck or Anderson are realistic 1 for 1 offers for Zibanejad. Even if their multi-cat prowess makes the actual value closer, after Zibs' performance last year, it'll take a few years for that shine to wear off to the point where good but not great multi-cat guys are comparable in the minds of the Zib owner.

Guadreau + Nurse for Zib + Makar is an amazing buy low on Zib and sell-hi on Nurse. Well done.

for the OP, if I'm the Zib owner and you're making the first move, I know what you're up to. Depending on my chances this year, I'm looking at your Dahlin as a long term option, possibly Klingberg or Carlson to help me this year. An elaborate 2 for 2 that gets me Brady would be my real goal. Otherwise I'll hold Zibanejad and hope he comes around.

oh for sure. I am not making any illusions about what I'm up to. I approached him saying I want to bet on him bouncing back, what would it take. He is just going to hold.

It's only a keep-4 btw, but yeah, Zibanejad is likely still a keeper based on last year. If I got him I would have quite a problem about who doesn't make the 4.
