    Default ROS thoughts on Garland

I am wondering what people are thinking of Conor Garland for the rest of season. I haven't seen any recent analysis on him. 10 team league, cats in signature. He is currently at exactly a point per game with massive shot volume. I am thinking of packaging him to upgrade at C, but don't want to throw him away if the production is valid. I know he's currently getting tons of minutes as line 1/PP1. I feel like I won't get full value for him in a trade because he's a somewhat new name and the Arizona thing doesn't help..

Any thoughts are much appreciated. Will rep!

I watched both of the last 2 games of Ari/StLouis and Garland is a player. The Schmaltz, Keller, Garland line was dominant at times with Garland arguably being the best player on the ice. Garland is not a player I would be looking to sell high on.

On a side note, I really enjoyed Tyson Nash in the booth. He brought a lot of energy and entertainment to the telecast.

hard to sell high when we don't know the ceiling really yet.

Garland's skill set is legit. he's the real deal. Don't expect a pt/gm in Arizona this year... but don't expect much of a drop off either.

I've scouted him a couple of times and he's a very skilled and deceptive player. This is a top-6 forward with real upside.
Unless you get an established and productive forward in return, I'm staying put with Garland.

Sounds like I am keeping him on the squad for now! I tossed his name around and nobody was over the moon about him. Thank you all for the feedback. Rep given.

    In a keep 12 (7 or 8F, 4 or 3D, 1G), 10 teams, would Garland be a keeper?

How high will he gets in Dobber ranking by the end of the year?

I am considering him as a potential keeper in this format for next year...

Without knowing full roster deets - can't say 100%
But on most keep 12 teams - most definitely yes.

I'd say yes as one of your bottom 6-8 forwards, depending on the strength of your team.
With Hall's departure he has become one of the top 3 offensive options on Arizona - the others would be Keller and Schmaltz or maybe Dvorak.
Obviously because of his team his upside is limited.

My top 6 is strong, but the rest is very so so, the bests of this so so group are Fiala, Meier and Mantha.

    I guess Garland fits there.

    Currently:
    Shooting 11.3%
    5on5 Shooting 11.3%
    PTS/60 3.2
    PDO 1064

Slightly hot but nothing that screams regression - that 5 on 5 SH% is a bit high. As long as the ice time and shot volume keep up he's going to be pretty good.

his shot rate and deployment is optimal. hes one of those guys that you'll have a hard time getting a good return for due to him playing in Arizona and not being a highly touted prospect/young player so just ride him while things are going well.

That's why he is asking...wondering if things are going too well and should he sell high on him (while he is going well) or keep him as the production looks like it will continue. You shouldn't need to tell someone to keep a hot player in their line-up. But it's smart to look a little deeper and ahead to see how to best leverage your assets. As they say at USAFA...Thanks Murray.

Watched Arizona's last game. Garland looked fantastic. Dangerous every time he is on the ice. Only thing holding him back is a stronger supporting cast.
