Default Which young star do you prefer?

League in signature. I知 pretty sure all relevant info is in there.

I知 competing this year. I have 4 minors streaming slots for the many active minors that I have.

Jack Hughes graduates soon after his 83rd game meaning I go down to three active streaming spots. That痴 not a big deal, I was prepared for this.

An opportunity has come where I can trade Jack Hughes and my 2nd this year, for Aho. My +/- is bad this year. I知 top 3 in all other 8 skater categories.

Do I make the trade and get Aho to help me win this year, or stay the course with my good team? Does Hughes even become a keeper for me next year? I have my doubts.

    Thank you. Rep to all.

Really? As soon as this year though? Or even next?

I'd make that trade. JHughes will be a good one but Aho is already there.

1 for Aho, 1 for Hughes. I’m still torn.

If you think it will help you win the league, I would vote for doing it. You are in fantasy hockey to win leagues, not own the best prospects. Try and negotiate the pick tho. 2nd seems a slice too much. Aho is a point per game player and Hughes has an upside that is higher than that still. You might be able to leverage that and talk him down.

Yep. Go for the win. No guarantee Hughes gets to where Aho is.

This is a tough one. I want Hughes over Aho in a vacuum but you are in a win-now mode and Aho is definitely going to help you more this season. I am a big Hughes fan and have been very impressed with his game this season but we know what Aho is. Try to knock down that 2nd round pick to a 3rd and then make the trade.

Because of FOW, I think Hughes or Aho could bump Carlson or Kane from your keepers, which I suspect muddies this further for you.

As much as I like Hughes, it's been a dazzling start and a sign of things to come, but there's some PDO magic in there as well. Aho should give you a little more this year especially with SOG and FOW. Now, I'm not sure why you have to be giving up a 2nd in the deal. I know you are IN on this season, but the extra piece could be what tilts it for you.

I think Hughes-Aho is a pretty level trade.

If I were to put scoring-pace on them, it would be:
    This Year: Aho85, Hughes65
    Next Year: Aho85, Hughes80
    2022-2023: Aho85, Hughes90
etc, with Hughes and a NJ team bound for another high-level pick, peaking around 100pts.

    Hughes is a special player.
His trajectory is already shaping up to be a lot like Tyler Seguin.
A very bumpy 1st year on a center-deep team, followed by big 2nd year in the mid-60s pace.

Pick your side based on that.
If the league has good stability and will last, then Aho-for-Hughes, IMO is a level keeper-league trade.
Adding a 2nd shouldn't be necessary... but if you Aho's production now... then do it.

This is one of those trades where if Aho puts you right at, or OVER, the top team... you do it.
If the top team or team(s) are strong... you might consider waiting for Hughes to peak your team in a few seasons.

Because you're in a win-now mode I'd trade Hughes for Aho but I wouldn't do the 2nd pick but maybe a lower pick would get it done. IMO Hughes has better long-term potential.
    Team 1:
J Hughes, Cooley (r), Bratt, Laine, M Tkachuk, Necas, A Svechnikov, S Jarvis, M Michkov (r), W Johnston, Zegras, Giroux, Norris, Couturier, B Jenner, T Krug, Burns, M Weegar, Werenski, Sergachev, B Clarke (r), Theodore, Sorokin , Oettinger, Askarov (r), Ersson

Keep 14 plus 4 rookies (under 150 GP) max 18 players
    Scoring: G (1), A (1), +/- (0.25), H (0.1), B(0.1), PIM (0.1), SOG (0.1), GWG (1), PPP (1), SHP (1),

For win now I make that deal happen.

However I agree that you should try and move that pick from a 2nd round pick into a 3rd or 4th rounder if possible.
