Tony Deangelo...Again

So Tony Deangelo seems to be having some "off ice issues" creeping in again.

Is this something to worry about in terms of fantasy. He has been suspended before for "maturity issues". Will the Rangers find him to be more trouble than he is worth?

Should I cut bait, and try to dangle him for a top flight forward?

Was thinking J. Hughes, or Kaprizov. Or am off-base here?

I would see what you can get - Kaprizov value is very high right now but you might be able to get Hughes.

I'm not overly worried about it until I hear someone from the Rangers brass saying it's an issue.

I would not be too worried as he still is a premier dman, he wont get cut for off ice issues unless its criminal. Admittedly I dont know what exactly said issues are so I cant really tell you what the actual risk is.

If you are worried, try to trade him but if other teams are also fearful they my try to get him for cheap. Don't bend, trade him for what he's worth.

He ragequit deleted his Twitter after Twitter deleted Donald's account and said he'd join one of the other social networks that are now being more heavily looked at for potential criminal doings (Parler I believe). I doubt he is the only Trump loyalist in the NHL, he's just the most visibly out one.

He's got a contract and as long as he is producing he should be fine. However, if it becomes more of a distraction or affects his play then there might be problems.

Short term, he's producing and valuable so use him. Long term, defensive miscues and abrasive nature mean that at some point in a keeper/dynasty, you're going to want to send him somewhere else before the value disappears.

His current contract has 2 years on it. When his ends, so do a whole mess of Rangers' contracts, so he's very likely out of there. If your timing works, I'd shoot for near the end of this season.

I mean as long as the FBI doesn't knock on his door to arrest him because he was in the capitol I don't think it's a issue for now.

For active players maybe. Bobby Orr would be the biggest Hockey name who endorsed Trump.

the only thing I would be worried about is that he doesn't seems to be the kind of guy that believe in Covid and might not be the most careful just like Harden in the NBA
