Should I trade Byfield?

I'm picking 2nd overall and the guy picking third overall offered me that pick and the 10th overall. I am very pro-Stutzle but am having a tough time giving Byfield up. The 10th could get me Krebs, as well.

I don't like Byfield. He seems like he'd be a bust at his draft position. With this body, he can either be amazing or totally underwhelming to me.

I'd be very nervous if he's wanting to do this trade to get Stuetzle.

If you're happy with either Byfield or Stutzle, I'd have no issues making this trade and picking up the 10th along with the 3rd.

If you're ok with either Stueztle or Byfield, then there's no real debate here. You get a player you like at 3 and get an extra prospect at 10.

I too was wary of Byfield, but have sweetened on him since the WJC. Stuetzle was superb but I am sure I won't have the guts to take him at 2. From my list, you like Stuetzle at 2, it seems.

I personally prefer Stuetzle than Byfield in fantasy. Especially where I live and where my other GMs live in most of my leagues, we'd see Stuetzle more often than Byfield on TV so it would boost his trade value more.

But if you don't care between the 2, do the trade

Yeah there’s not a lot of downside to making this deal, unless you really really prefer one guy over the other

I think Stutzle has a higher offensive upside by a little. Byfield's a better MC own - IMO.

I would make this deal all day.

Worst case - he takes Stutzle and you end up with Byfield anyway.

Byfield really didn't impress me at the WJC. I know it's a short tournament, but it isn't his lack of production that bothered me. It was his lack of engagement, lack of elite skills, lack of elite skating, lack of an elite shot, lack of physicality, and pretty much everything else I look for in a prospect.

The only thing that impressed me about Byfield is his cycling game down low, which is to be expected for a big-bodied player. Otherwise, I just didn't see anything at all that makes me think Byfield will become any better than someone like Kevin Hayes.
