I just did some quick analysis of players of note for the teams with 120 and 119 points.

My inability to doublecheck that I had clicked the right goalie has cost me 18 points so far. I actually picked a really good roster this year but my idiocy is going to cost me. I honestly hope my score isn't high enough to have taken first without that mistake. Currently I would have had 121 points....lol. Moron.

Last update before the medal games. I find it fun that the top 8 are all behind by only one point. Then that 3 way tie for 8th ruins it. doulos with 18 more points (I assume you picked Garand over Levi?) would also ruin this by going up to 4th.

Yeah, although to be fair last year had you done the same mistake you'd be ahead, after Daws was replaced by Hofer as Canada's starter. Looked like it might have been that type of year again between Levi and Garand (then again, I didn't look too hard into it, because lazy).

Final Update - Congratulations PenguinHunter for the win with 146 points! Meanwhile I'm just glad I didn't finish last after a horrid start, I pulled close enough to top 10.

Florian Elias (GER, 9) and John Farinacci (USA, 7) were the only players not picked with 7 or more points (outside goalies, which I didn't bother counting,)

For fun.

- Top F Captain was Zegras (18), followed by Cozens (16). No other captain had more than 5 points (hindsight - should have stuck with Lundell as a captain over Caufield. Leaving Holtz out was an okay call. Whiffing on Stutzle was okay, considering he was only picked by half the pool).

- Top D Captain was York (6). Byram (5), Soderstrom (5) and Heinola (4) were all fine picks here. Mukhamadulin (0) was not. All were outscored by Niemela, and only Faber had the numbers to also be here.

- Top G was Levi (18), then Knight (16) and Piiroinen (10), who was only picked once. Askarov, the most common goalie, had 6 points.

The top 9 (since 10th is a multi-way tie with 8 points) interestingly goes:
Zegras, Levi (18)
Cozens, Knight (16)
Lundell, Piiroinen, Stutzle, Paterka (10 each)
Florian Elias (9), who was unpicked.

And here's what the best team would look like, for 183 points (winner had 146, a full 37 points lower!). Interesting team-building notes here:
- I had cut York for Soderstrom, since that would let me have one of the 7 point Americans (Boldy, who was picked, and Farinacci, who was not). It's a wash point wise, but leads to having 5 USA players who give the best relative value.
- However, when building the D, there weren't many non-captains who had 4 or more points. I had to cut Boldy/Farinacci for one of Amirov/Hirvonen (6p, and not a CAN/USA player, whose teams were maxed), which then allowed me to fit in Faber (5p) who would be a 1 point gain over keeping Boldy/Farinacci and taking another D from the 3 point pool (Broberg, Johansson, Chistyakov, Bychkov). The US also had R. Johnson and Helleson score 4 each, but again, can only have so many Americans.
- And a few players that were not picked made it - Florian Elias (GER), and a pair of D with 4 points in Simon Gnyp (GER) and Simon Nemec (SVK - led the team in points and no slovakians were picked in the pool, so ggood for him!)
