Another Josi Trade...

I was offered Josi and a 3rd round pick in our entry draft (players drafted this year) for my Theodore, Elvenes and my 2nd round pick, I really like Josi and recognize he is an elite D, but he is 30 and I would have to cut about 3million more to get under my cap should I pull the trigger on this. Also, I really like Theodore, and in this year's entry draft the 2nd round pick (14th overall) to get his 3rd round pick (29th overall) is a big no for me. I am missing something here? Would you make this deal?

in the Salary cap league i think i prefer to stick with Theodore..unless you have more cap space than you need...

if this was not a cap league, i would do this hands down.

Not sure what your league's cap is, but imho, $9m for a D is not worth the investment. Your D isn't terrible and having to cut another 3m to make room is not great

Josi is the better player for still a couple of years but with the salary gap and the age gap, I think the pick swap is too much to ask. I would say no.

Theodore is a bargain in a cap league, Josi isn't anymore and I certainly wouldn't be paying extra to acquire a player who only provides fair value.

I would make the deal if it wouldnt take further moves for you to get cap compliant. You have to factor in what those moves would mean. Just like Vegas signing Pietrangelo, but then having to move Schmidt for pennies on the dollar, and now maybe moving Pacioretty...
